I'll tell you what I do like, though...house shows. I've discovered quite a few around the area that are hosting some very cool small shows and booking artists equivalent to what the Thirsty Beaver or Evening Muse books. There's actually a fair amount of crossover with the Beaver in terms who plays there. There's one in Charlotte, one in Campobello, and one in Rock Hill that I've recently discovered. The guy in Rock Hill has built a sweet 120 capacity 'venue' that is attached to his house. I've got three of his shows on the calendar already. Most of these are $20-$25 tickets and they usually include some kind of meal before the show.

again...his voice is still pretty strong

saw a great show down in Jax just a couple years ago at a really nice theater

had tickets to see him in Asheville and it got snowed out....
