Would you take a job at Clemson if...

you were single, had no family in the area, and would have to take a relatively small pay cut to do it? Asking for a friend who knows the cost of living is low there.

They might know the Clemson Federal Relations Director and a few other folks through working for a SC Congressman...
But seriously, I'm not sure I'd want to be 30 and single there.

some fun. I could go be single in Greenville too. Now, if somebody who didn't go to Clemson had a job opportunity, I'd say explore it, but make Greenville home base.

After a while, its all about being comfortable and doing what you want to do...and really, going to a crowded, noisy bar then figuring out how to get home (or paying $50+ for cab fare) ain't my thing anymore.

I can;t see why if you can live in the Clemson area, you wouldn't.
But I do have a water/boat addiction, and i guess everyone isn't blessed with that. It's so sad...

to Greenville. Every possible day I can spend on the lake, I'm out there. However, I have found many don't share the same passion, which is a good thing. I'm all for keeping as many people off the water as possible.

living on Lake Keowee, going to most every Clemson sporting event year round and being home 15 minutes afterwards, playing golf if I get the whim, or maybe taking the Jeep up to the mountains 20 minutes away. Waking up on Saturday morning and having to decide whether I'm going fishing or hunting, or maybe just do some trail hiking.
You think there are no single women around here over the age of 23? It's like every other place around, except with a bunch more intelligent college graduates (professors, PhD researchers, etc.). Who do you think works at the university and leads all these students?
For me, the only drawback is having to go to Atlanta or Asheville to see decent concerts. And having to clean the house for friends wanting to crash for football games and live like me for a weekend.
Yeah, life is really depressing up here.

She should probably be between a 6.75 and 7.25. Have a "real relationship" with her all while figuring out who in her other circle really doesn't like her. I'd wager you could find at least one smoke show in the punch. Have some fun and repeat the process.

I've actually done some cipherin' on this very subject, and I figure I'd take up to a 30% pay cut to live there. I mean I've always wanted to live there since I was in school--why not? What do I have to lose? At my age my career is pretty much where it's going to go..so, yeah.
