of the year they took Merriweather out of the game while he was gashing the coot defense and we couldn't get into the end zone and wound up losing. It feels just like that.

All we had to do is run the ball....they couldn't stop it. We could have lined up in the I formation and ran off tackle and pitch sweeps and won easily.

persisted on running Ship directly up the middle into a stacked box on what seemed like EVERY first down. That put us behind the chains. We would gain decent yards running on 2nd down, but still be in a passing situation on 3rd, and we could not complete a pass at a paid hooker today.

It wasn't a "Run Shipley" play, it was a read option that DJ NEVER GETS RIGHT. Heck if you flip a coin you would do better. He just never keeps it on the read option because he is slow and soft. CK2 can run that play just fine.

You're right.

Believe we ran 22 personnel last year and smashed them. I posted this past week that I thought we could deploy the same strategy this year. So yeah, I agree. Can't believe the adjustment wasn't made in the 2nd half.

I thought about that several times today including even in the first and second quarter. In that game Spiller had a couple of really long runs early and I think we had a pick six late in the first half. Even though we were ahead I never liked the feel of that game. That’s when Proctor was quarterback and Carolina knew we couldn’t throw the ball. That may be the biggest similarity between these two games.
