Question for trump voters

This is not directed at the MAGAS, coz I know what you cult members will say…. But feel free to reply
How you feeling about the economy? Specifically the tariff nonsense? I think many trump voters voted on the economy, thinking dumb donald could turn it around, lower inflation, grocery prices, and so on, which he promised on day numero uno. Many republicans, including some on here were all for tariffs, but didn’t seem to know how they worked, now you should all know it’s not what you thought and what dumb donald seems to think they are. Many cheered them as a negotiation tactic, which failed, somehow he won lol Where we stand at the moment are tariff threats causing the markets to be unstable, and 📉. They are on, off, on again, maybe on, sorta kinda on, off again. Canada, Mexica, and Chienah are not seeming to back down, imposing hefty tariffs back on us, barring American made goods, and boycotting America (tourism). This is gonna hurt LOTS.
So far I can’t think of jack #### hes done to to lower prices, or actually help inflation/the economy, but feel free to chime in with if you do
Do y’all feel: - this is a mess and likely to get worse before it gets better - dumb donald knows what he’s doing and will fix it ( art of the deal) - Other

I read somewhere that we have a trade surplus with Canada if you remove oil, gas, and electricity from the equation. Haven't dug into it yet. There was a White House economist on the morning shows who has caught Trump's mental sickness, claiming against all evidence that the tariffs are a good idea.

Not a Trump voter nor a Harris voter

but I think a lot of folks who voted for Trump didn't buy the media narrative that Biden was cognitively squared away and after Harris said on The View that nothing came to mind that she would do different from Biden, that they were ready for Trump again.
It has been very chaotic under Trump so far and the media is correctly reporting that. It's a shame that the media carried Biden's water for so long.
There's definitely a lot to be concerned over Trump's actions, but there was a lot under Biden that was not adequately reported.
Biden/Harris led to Trump 2.0. Trump will probably lead to a lefty Dem in 2028 at the rate he's going.
Here's a long video showing some of the media in lock step backing Biden.Yes, I know Townhall is a Trump apologist site.

I think a lot of people saw Kamala Harris has someone that was forced on them. No primary. She was never liked even when she ran for President the first time. When you add the whole woke thing and people weren't doing it. In the 2020 Dem Primary I think she polled at about 10%. She was never wanted.

She was woke. She was a forced because she was a woman of color. She wasn't liked generally. That was just a disaster of a pick. She didn't really bring anything to table. Maybe that should could be the first woman president. That was all, other than just not being Trump.

They didn't like the border issues, funding Ukraine, and they saw the woke junk as awful. They aren't disappointed yet I don't imagine.

The Biden admin was not bad. It was a bad presidency. He and others led us back to this Trump disaster by not treating his time as a one term affair as originally promised and prepping a better candidate to take his place.

Biden was a bad president because he respected the judgments of the court that doomed his student loan forgiveness. And the time he trusted the DOJ to prosecute Trump and a the Supreme Court granted him immunity.
Respecting the courts is what we expect from a President. Trump and his minions are threatening judges who disagree with them.
They are not the same.

Typical Ron response. OP was clearly about Trump and the CURRENT term, and he gives a 5 paragraph response and links that mostly deal with BIDEN. 😆

For many of them, they were too caught up in...

The manufactured hatred of immigrants and transgender people and "wokeism" (even though they didn't really get that, either). So they ignored the whole tariff stuff because that was too high level and they wanted to focus on the less important issues. Others knew we probably had a point on the tariffs but didn't understand the current economic situation and thought Trump would somehow magically fix problems.
I don't even think Trump understands tariffs; to him it's just another way to be punitive and act like he's a bad ###.
Anyone who argued for tariffs on this board last year looks like a pretty big fool now, but in fairness, they likely just didn't understand them, like you said. Tariffs are stupid--economists can easily show you why. But if you ARE going to put them in, you give advance warning, like a year to prepare, and stay consistent so the markets don't get ###### in the process.

Re: Question for trump voters

I'm a long time Republican and don't agree with everything from anyone, but I'm happy to see the Government changes happening now.
Stock prices don't bother me because I'm not a day trader looking for a quick buck. I'm into long tetm dividend stocks and even during COVID, the prices went down but dividends kept coming. Just like then, I have bought low and increased my dividend income.
Tariffs don't bother me because in Trump's first term with growth and tax cuts the overall income grew about $6000 per year and it was estimated tariffs cost the average tax payer about $500. That's still a $5500 gain which is better than a sharp stick in the eye. Plus I don't believe any country should charge higher tariffs on the U.S. than we charge them, including Mexico and Canada. If you knew anything about tariffs, you would look into why Biden kept all of Trump's China tariffs and even ADDED more. As far as other Trump tariffs, Biden kept some, lowered some and did away with very few. Don't fool yourself about tariffs. They don't hurt as much as CNN and MSNBC want you to believe. Countries will start production here or lower their tariffs they're charging us. Why do you thing there has been over $2 Trillion pledged from foreign countries to open factories and produce their product in the U.S. Make it here and pay no tariffs. America wins. I hope that's not something you hate.
Oil prices are going down resulting in lower gas prices around here. Maybe you live in your parents basement don't use much gas, but it is a start. It will go even lower when the dumb a$$ Biden restrictions get cut. Also, 10 year treasury interest rates are going down which is an indicator of things to come. Patience is a virtue!
When the tax cuts get through, tax payers will continue to save $ thousands per year, plus more with the additional tax cuts proposed. I wish the government would cut income taxes for non officer military personel because they are partially paying their own basic salaries, but that is a story for another day.
Cutting corporate taxes from 21% to 15% or even 18% will increase jobs, production, workers and more tax income to the government. I was never able to understand why a Democrat could not grasp that until their tax dollar theft and fraud is now being fully exposed.
Lower Corporate Taxes = More R&D and More Businesses
More R&D and More Business = More Production
More Production = Business Growth with More Workers
Business Gowth with More Workers = More Corporate Taxes Paid and More People Paying Taxes, thus, more Income from Taxes to pay down the debt.
Why do you think the Trump 2017 tax cuts from his first term resulted in almost $2 Trillion income tax increase and record Corporate taxes paid during Biden's term and he wasted it flying in, feeding and housing illegal immigrants rather than paying off the debt. It wasn't because Biden raised taxes to increase income, because he couldn't. Novel isn't it what tax cuts can do.

It shouldn’t surprise me how little you people understand oil and gas, but it still does. Oil is cheap right now at $70. When the price is low, exploration slows down and more expensive extraction facilities are shut down completely. Even at that, Biden left office with the highest crude production of any country at any time in history. What restrictions do you idiots expect to be relaxed and what do you think that will do? One thing I know is that whatever syphilitic fantasy you have, it’s definitely wrong.

So why did oil production break records in 2019 over 2018 when the average oil prices were averaging around $60 per barrel? Do some research and maybe you'll become economic literate.
You're still giddy over Biden increasing Federal employees by 46% during his term and stealing from tax payers.
