I have worked with student-athletes for over 25 years. I have seen how they have evolved and the way to reach them.
During a game, a player does NOT need an emotional explosion as demonstrated by Dabo. They want answers. I'm not saying a little "butt-chewing" can't be used, but in this instance and at that time, what's the point?
Finally, you are a recruit or future portal player...are you playing for that??? You know who WILL play for that? Dudes that are being offered by group of 5 schools.

I didn’t mind the meltdown but it should have been Conn in their faces and not Dabo, Dabo shouldn’t have to take charge of a position group.

Agreed. And Bobby Knight was also applauded. My point is simply that the intensity is a bad look. I talk to recruits. They talk. Clemson's brand will continue taking a hit. We'll get more Northwestern decommits.

I agree if it is couched as coaching a mistake. When it is made personal, is when you may not want that aired in front of others.

True or false. The way coaches talk to or are allowed to talk to players have changed over the course of 25 years? Not rather it should or not, just has it?
Given the obvious, Dabo simply has to adjust with the times, just like with the portal. Which part am I getting wrong sir?

If Dabo were given to ranting or of the butt chewing occurred in isolation of all else that had been going on the season I might agree. But Dabo isn't given to negative reinforcement and the team has been pretty unresponsive this season so, I don't blame him. I also don't think this should be a problem as to those catching the heat. Their makes themselves, thrir team and coaches look bad. They don't have a right to do this and I think it would sent a worse signal of Dabo had continued to act as if he didn't notice.
He should have had them running steps until they puked or quick immediately after the game.

Hopefully Dabo's doing some self-chewing because he over-saw the recruiting of the secondary and is responsible for not having legit secondary instead of converted DBs who are probably more group of 5 players.
If you question Dabo he blows up on media and starts talking about the past. Dabo will fix it, but he will have to change up his pitch.

LOK! There's levels to this. Dabo looked like he was out of control. We know Dabo is a great man, but his explosion hurts the brand and recruiting. And yes, these kids are built differently from us. These are the same kids who are performing well for other coaches.
