Mar 11, 2021, 9:16 AM

How has your 401k performed since Jan 21st ?

Personally I’m down 1.8% ... and with money constantly going in , its actually worse than that

How are you doing so poorly? I am up over 10% since he took office. The market has been up. What do you have?

Ditto, I am sure I must be up, but have not checked.

The question is, when am I selling? There will be lots of good news w.r.t. COVID over the next month or more. Lots of spending by consumers, potential euphoria heading into summer.

But, when will the dems start talking tax hikes for individuals and corporations and how high will gas go?

When we all get tired of the COVID good news cycle, we may be in store for reality.

Exactly. It feels like something bad is going to happen. The market can't keep this up.....can it?

Especially since the Dow is only up 3.8% and the Nasdaq is down 1.8% during that period

I never look at mine.

When the statement comes in the mail, I throw it away without opening it. I'll start looking when I get to be about 50, I think.

I think the President must create an environment

conducive to business development and growth. But there are a ton of factors that can lead to a short-term ebb or flow to the stock market.

Employment rate will be interesting to track, also. February saw an improvement in employment rates. Except for black Americans, who saw a rise in unemployment. But I'm sure Biden will address that with his open borders and minimum wage hike.

Oh well. Invest more wisely.***

I'm up 21% since January 20

Impressed that you found a way to lose money in this market, though. I guess you went all in on tech stocks?

Oil and steel companies have been nice gainers for me recently.

Unless you're going to retire in a few years, you'd want it

to be dropping so you can acquire more shares with the money you have going in each month.

6% discretionary match and I never seem to be able to catch a good dip...but I suppose I should be thankful for the total 12% annual match.
