UNC cheated and could not participate, or that Miami self-imposed a ban... or that VA Tech stunk it up...
No.
Why not scream that FSU fans bailed on their own team and did not travel well?
The ACC is what it is... either support it or quit cryin'. Clemson is in the ACC for 2013.. we know that for sure.
So time to get on board and quit crapping on the conference.
Many on this board are becoming Bizarro-World, SEC-like fans. Instead of touting the conference and always talking about how good it is... these folks are always crapping on the conference and boohoo'ing about how bad it is.
Our $1 issue should be Clemson and not the ACC.

giving the SEC unfair advantage and then hope all the other ACC teams lose all their OOC games. Crazy.

Yeah, but there's more to it than supporting the ACC.

The school paid for the tickets so it's not fair to say anyone other than some of the fans disrespected the game.
I'll concede that the fans disrespected their team but I can't fault them for not going to the game. Hail, I didn't even watch the game. There was no way FSU needed any fan support to win that one. They also had the Orange Bowl to look forward to and at that time I don't think anyone knew who they would face.
Fact of the matter is, until the ACC divisionally splits FSU and Clemson there's going to be little attraction to our conference championship game. That's not my problem.

If they lost money they deserved to.
Winning the conference is an important deal.

With the cost of attending overpriced "championship" games, people more and more will vote with their lack of attendance how they feel about these games. Fans don't "owe" it to their team to travel for unappealing matchups and drop hundreds and hundreds of dollars per person. This isn't the government who just prints money. There are only a few decent matchups fans will pay to see in the ACC.

Given recent circumstances in several of conferences, I truly feel there needs to be a change to the by laws.
If the first place team from a division is deemed to be ineligible for the championship game, then the birth goes to the next highest ranked team in the conference.
If this would have happened this year then Clemson would have had a rematch with FSU. It would have been a sellout, better TV ratings, the schools make money, the conference makes money etc etc.
It is hard to say whether or not Clemson or FSU should be in seperate divisions, because the second that change is made then FSU is down and Miami is up you still have the same issue. It is so cyclical, but Clemson and FSU do have the best football fan bases in the conference and should be fairly consistent in performance as we go through the years. Given the fan base issue, It may make sense to switch Miami and Clemson.
