I believe this is the way a Jesus disciple approaches this controversial subject (homosexuality and what are we called to do). Acceptance? Tolerance? Detestable?
Do not confuse this with God being tolerant or accepting of sin. He cannot and will not ever be in the presence of sin. Period. And remember there is ONLY one thing that keeps you from His presence (heaven) and that is NOT knowing and loving His Son as your Lord and Savior. And God is the only one that can truly know where you stand on this when He looks at your heart. Him and Him alone!
We, on this side of eternity, are called to love like Jesus loved. But we are never called to compromise the Gospel in any way as we believe it to be the Truth given to us by our Creator.

The only way us sinners can be in His presence is to be MADE "sinless" by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Jesus was the only sinless man to walk this earth. Which made Him the only effective sacrifice (all the bulls and cows preceding Jesus just didn't cut it) for OUR sins. By accepting that in your heart, you are "sinless" or righteous in God's eyes. So, no God's not waiting, He has plenty of company.
