Hopefully the rain holds off and we can get all three games in this weekend. So pumped baseball is back. Really think this team can make it to Omaha after a disappointing ending last season.

Couple of quick notes about Xavier. Most sites are predicting them to finish second in the conference behind UConn.

Three names to look out for this weekend

First baseman Matt McCormick. Solid hitter with good power, 14Hrs last year

Second basemen Jared Cushing. Tough out at the plate, 50 RBIs, also had 14 HRs last year

On the mound I could be wrong but I believe their Friday Starter is going to be Luke Hoskins. 6'4 Righty. Finished 7-2, Eliminated Vanderbilt in the Nashville Regional holding them to 1 run in 7 innings.

Yes, thank you for mentioning that. Not your typical cakewalk opening weekend series. They are going to be a tough test. New faces in the lineup and a brand new infield with Blake Wright moving back to 2B. Hopefully the pitching can come out strong
