Take all of what the Dude says with a grain of salt. No, don't waste the salt, use it on some french fries or something.

I wish it were so simple. The teams from the Big 4 conferences are going to DOUBLE the revenue of the ACC soon. This is due to better TV contract, better bowl tie ins, and 3rd tier cable TV rights. Swofford is either stupid or nepotistic in selling our 3rd tier rights out so cheaply. That was the ONE area the ACC stood to level the playing field, with so many cable subscribers in our member states. He has dealt a crippling blow to this once great conference.

The more I witness conference shifting due to football/money it's a wonder to me that we're not in the SEC by now. We fit the model of an SEC team to a T. The only thing about the conference that bothers me is that their schools aren't held at quite the high academic regard as ACC schools like our friends in NC n' VA. Vandy's presence is about the only sense of security I have that if Clemson goes SEC our integrity remains intact.
I still have faith that the ACC can continue to compete w/ the big 4 conferences from a football standpoint n' I'm hoping Miami, UNC, Va. Tech, Ga. Tech, N.C. State n' our new buddies 'Cuse n' Pitt can be successful as we know they can n' strengthen what grasp our conference still has on pollsters, recruits, n' TV audience.

ACC is fine for us as long as the conf is healthy

I'd rather play games within a 6 hour bus ride instead of flying EVERY SINGLE GAME. Big XII is a bad move for Clemson athletes and anyone who actually attends the games. Great for the people who just watch on TV. (Not a knock on anyone, just a realistic statement).

IF and thats a big IF, the Big 12 can add enough teams on the east of the Mississippi to align the conference in an East/West I can see it being kinda plausible. It would still be a little awkward, yeah, but if it means better football, hey i'm in!

As long as our conference is healthy is a scary thought. Especially when it hasn't been healthy in a very long time....

Hope we move to the SEC. Beacause I will not be able to go to any road games. The SEC would also be better competion. I would hate to be in the big 12 ir the big 10.

at which point we'll be forced to the Big 12 with any other desirables. We are maybe 6th or 7th on the sec's list and i hope not even on the B1G list. I wonder if swoffie will issue a public apology when unc jumps ship from the conference they destroyed.

the (understandable) mistake they made in joining the Big 12 a year too early.
They want to be in a conferenced with Pitt, VA Tech, Maryland, and to a lesser extent (UVA).
They are a group that will never admit a mistake.

Here's the thing about "the dude". For all his speculation over the last year he never once mentioned that Maryland may be the first ACC school to leave - at least not that I ever saw. So not only is he apparently throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks, his entire load of crap didn't even speculate a Maryland move, which is what actually happened. For someone claiming "inside sources" shouldn't there have at least been a casual mention that something might happen with Maryland?
