...about the Kinard situation. Couple of things don't add up. First, Dabo wasn't asked about this today nor did he comment on the record anywhere that I can find. Apparently some reporters were given the text of what he would say if asked. I guess Pete was one of them as was David Hood. Second, the Kinard kid had not previously announced he was transferring or leaving per David's report. And I believe DavidHood®would know. Strange that Yanity, who I respect, would put this out there.

He quoted the main source -- Dabo. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, Dabo thanked the reporters for the opportunity to address the situation. Apparently, the Kinard kid is Charmin soft. Good luck with the transfer. He will be flipping burgers soon.

What am I missing? Yannity reported what Kinard said and then reported Dabo's response. I wish more articles were written as reporters without their opinion. What's offensive?

It’s a nothing burger until some legit charges surface followed by findings. Obviously, Dabo gave him a scout team spot because he’s a legacy. Him transferring isn’t going to hurt. He might find a lower tier team where he can get some playing time. Best wishes, kid!

It appears that TK took his son’s statement and fired off a rant based on one sided information. National media immediately reported based on a one sided TK rant. They didn’t investigate, just publish unsubstantiated opinions of TK, who wasn’t present at the time. No one has any facts.
At least David investigated with people directly and indirectly involved at the practice. Actual witnesses of the event. He published what he learned.
Dabo was prepared for reports to ask about the event. No one asked questions so they released the statement to some press members. David said the statement aligned with what he had learned about the incident.
At this point, that is the most factual information available. Yanity reporting is the same as all the others but at least they reached out to TK.
Hopefully some of the others at practice will substantiate the facts, one way or the other. Kudos to David for investigating the situation. Until other facts emerge, I’ll take David’s report of the situation.

I lived in Spartanburg for almost 40 years before I moved to Florida. One of my jobs there was in the media and we worked with a lot of the WSPA people. I have yet to meet a WSPA on air personality that wasn't a hack. Some were really nice people but not one was "good at their job". They were always more concerned about themselves and getting a story out or being the one that read from the teleprompter to break the story. For the love of marshmallow peeps, all you do is READ. An 11 year old with a solid reading level could do your job. Just broadcast the teleprompter and let ME read it.
