Wrong board - but need help to drive across SC from Anderson

Oct 6, 2015, 7:10 AM

to Charleston. I lived in Georgia when we had the flood of the century at the time. So many bridges washed out that traveling through the state was impossible for a couple of weeks. I will fly into Atlanta tomorrow and drive to Anderson to spend the night and pick up Dad. Then drive to Charleston through Columbia on Thursday for niece's wedding on Saturday. Drive back to Anderson Sunday.

Is this even possible?

Daughters are scheduled to drive from Warner Robins, GA to Charleston on Friday.

You should be fine. We had no problems getting to Charleston via I26 Sunday.

I-26 in the Columbia area should be OK by then, but you can

check the SC DOT website for any road closures.

If there are still problems with the rivers, take I-20 west, then the US 378 exit toward Columbia. Then the I-26E ramp back onto the interstate. Drove that route yesterday to go to the airport.

Not sure about the Charleston area, but the DOT site will have that info.

Have a safe trip.

Charleston Interstates are fine....

Some of the back roads may still be a little flooded by the weekend though. Some of the back roads have also washed away with the flood. If you're coming to downtown Charleston you should be fine.

See if this helps
