We trailed for most of the second half, down by as much as 9 at one point with about 8 minutes to go. I thought we made really good adjustments in the second half.
PJ was outstanding, as was Chase Hunter. Ian made some big plays for us, and I thought RJ played well too.
You can tell we are still figuring out our best lineups, which isn’t surprising this early in the season. I really like our players.
These are the kind of games you don’t have to win, but they sure are nice to have. UAB has 8 transfers this year so scouting was nearly impossible. I think they will have success in the AAC this year. I’m thinking a quad 2 win, quad 3 at the worst.
Davidson will be a tough matchup, but we will be a tough one for them too. Go Tigers!

If 10 games is what it takes before you really know what we have, I'm looking forward to the football game today. I already bought my Clemson stock this week based on insider knowledge that came straight from the CEO. I hope he was right.

Kind of like Clemson football saying “Man that was. Gutsy win over Wofford . We were behind most of the game but we kicked a field goal with time running out”. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad they won but you would be ripping football apart for a performance like that and you know it!!!

I’d say it’s more akin to Clemson football trailing a UCF or Houston rather than a Wofford or Presbyterian

As someone who recently transferred out of Wofford, I'd be shocked if they had any noteworthy recruits. While I never closely followed their football team or their recruiting when I was there (or since leaving), they've been terrible the past few years. Like, one of the very worst teams in all of Division 1 terrible. They did have a good run at their level in the late 2010's where they won a couple Socon titles, but they've fallen off a cliff since then. Funny enough, they're playing the Citadel right now and are leading 11-3 in the 4th quarter. Both teams are 0-9, so Wofford might have a chance at their first win here. But as both of you quite rightly pointed out, suggesting that Wofford football and UAB basketball are the same level of opponent is laughably absurd.

They set a school record for wins last year, and are predicted to be in the top 3 of the AAC this year. They are not a bad team at all. Way above a Wofford type team in football.

Exactly. The second highest rated recruit on the floor was wearing a UAB jersey.
I dont think wofford has any top 100 recruits.

I agree with your assessment but with eight transfers on their team, last year's very accomplished squad must have been totally depleted.

We should have ran that team out of the building but they made shots and we didn't. Proud of us for coming back down 9 with about 4 minutes left.

Not really.... we are the more complete team, but they have nice pieces. Eric gaines was the second highest rated recruit on the court last night and it showed.
I do think it should have been a more comfortable win especially when their 2 big men fouled out. Unfortunately missed FT and timely shooting by them made it a closer game.

This board is exhausting. I hate seeing literally every bball thread devolve into Brownellers Vs Anti-Brownellers
It can both be a good thing that Clemson found a way to win and also be true that they didn’t play well against a team they should beat.
UAB has a couple good players, but that’s a game Clemson just HAS to win and thankfully did. No need to try to make UAB sound really good, nor is there any need to act like they’re awful either.

Regardless of who the coach is, I'm always really happy over a Clemson win, and anybody who isn't, please do Clemson, and the Clemson faithful a tiny little favor and find yourself a team where you can be happy with who the coach is. I mean any fan that's not happy with our team's success bc you hate the coach, you're really not a good Clemson Tiger fan, you're actually a fan of the winningest coaches, and Clemson probably will never be a good fit for ya!!!
And yes there has been times when I wanted to hear that Brad had been replaced, but I have always been happy with ever win he was able to lead our team to, and I don't understand how a fan could want to see us lose bc they hated the coach. I just don't understand that kind of thinking bc my heart hurts for my team when they lose no matter who the coach is bc I'm not pulling for the coach!!!!
