Yes, but don't see it happening. You either would never play opponents in the other division, or you wouldn't play your division. In which case, what's the point in having divisions?

to join for football if we moved to a seven game conf schedule. Play your pod plus a home/home with another pod. Everyone would play each other 2x every six years. Championship game would be the winner of your pod plus the pod you are paired with. This means ND would only need to commit to one more game per year to join full-time.
Also, I'm not against bringing in Navy for football and Georgetown for basketball and let them split a revenue share.

Navy brings nothing to the table.

I'm not happy with any scenario that includes them, no offense to them. It is obviously a fine institution of higher learning, but Navy is the kind of team you play in order to round out your schedule - an "easy win." The ACC needs to add a team that doesn't fit that mold.
We need a 16th team with more pizazz, but who is available? West Virginia would have been fantastic - oh well. Penn State would be great, but are they really available - I mean, really?
I think that among those teams that we actually have a shot at landing - it pains me to say this - UConn and Rutgers are most attractive.
I'd pick Rutgers just becuase of untapped potential.

I don't WANT to go to 16 teams (I didn't really want to go above 9).
But if it is pre-ordained, then this would work.
Notre Dame, as we all know, is the best possible option.
Navy is a nationally known program, has a featured game every year with Notre Dame and with Army, is off the charts in prestige and fits geographically.
Please people...South Florida will never happen. Again, if we don't take West Virginia because of academics (mistake), we aren't taking South Florida...a school that brings in less than 45,000 in attendance in a state where we already have Miami and FSU.
My favorite would be West Virginia. I realize most believe the ship has sailed. Still my favorite pick and I would love it if we swallowed our pride and offered, and they swallowed their pride and accepted.
Penn State would be hard to turn down if the Big 10 thing started to fall out of favor. In horrible shape now but great location and huge football school.
Barring that, Rutgers is the best choice. A huge school with tremendous potential, we would completely own the New York City market between Rutgers, Notre Dame and Syracuse.
And I love the North vs. South set-up. More regional rivalries. The South Division would be a power conference. You know who would hate it? Wake. Ouch. Duke is worse but cares waaaaaaaay less.
