So I tried to give SlingTV another try since Walking Dead is coming up in a month or so. It's the only way to get AMC without having to go with YouTube TV.
Well, any hoo. Sling is fucking awful. Even after 5 years, they can't get buffering/rewinding/etc. to work right.
I guess given Hulu's double-whammy of having ACC Network and having #### near everything else BESIDES AMC, I might be sitting TWD out this year and/or stream illegally. Not worth it.

Playstation Vue SUCKS. Audio would get out of whack, then it's crash. Consistently, and often on multiple Roku devices. Hulu has worked well too. Using the trial right now for the game. Wife says she'd switch if not for losing the Hallmark channels on Sling. I'm like IDGAF about any of it.
I think a lot has to do with the hardware you use to stream basically.

That's probably true. I have more success with the XBoxOne, but Roku is barefuly functional.

has to create and maintain apps for. Android. iOS. Roku. X-box, PS4, Sony/Vizio/etc. smart TV's. Windows desktops. Mac desktops. Then the regular internet interface. It's a ton of work for them to maintain all that stuff over so many platforms.

which is like 70 bucks. So adding another $50 for just one channel isn't economical for me. I would try HBO, but I have so much crap saved on Hulu that I hate to start fresh.

but I find myself watching Netflix more often.
It's $53/Mo.....so it's approaching the same as a satellite company.
My problem is having to use it with roku which isn't that great.
My internet doesn't reach my bonus room very well.
I would say my tv experience has dropped approx 45% switching from Dish Network to Youtubestv.
On a positive side, youtubestv is not blocked at work.

With the 'older' Rokus, I never had good luck on Wifi...I know your's isn't older, but I'd assume that the wifi antenna (I could be making this up) isn't as capable as those in the roku 'boxes'....
You don't have an ethernet port on that thang, right?
and I've been wondering about the work blockage.
we just switched to a Fantasy Football platform that I can get here, too....#bonar

Directv now had lost cbs and nbc and didn't have ACCN so we decided to switch. Really happy with it so far.

to observe. Where normal, usually rationally-thinking men turn into some sort of super-couponing UDP cat ladies just to save a few bucks a month.
For the cost of a few sixers of your wittily-named cutesy-flavored microbeer, you could have a reliable, absolutely perfect satellite picture of every channel you desire. No buffering, no missing channels, no passwords required.
Bottom line: Get off that wallet. If you pay for a Yugo, you don't get to drive a Cadillac.

and still watch everything I want to watch (and WHEN/WHERE I want to watch it) with minor headache/troubleshooting
we get it, tho.
You like paying for 700 channels you don't watch, and drinking #### beer.

That is what is not economical to me. And the pain in the butt with streaming is equaled by the pain in the butt of finding out why DirecTV just increased the bill by $15 every few months.

Free TV changing frequencies has really messed me up

Had numerous local channels until this past weekend. Local station - that plays ALL of the best CFB games - announced frequency change and need to re-scan channel. I have lost all of the major channels - even the TV3 just 15 miles from me.
Anyone else have this problem and find a solution/antenna that works?

quit watching after they killed every major character off and took 2 seasons to show something that should have happened in 8 episodes.
