He grew up in Troy, Ohio and went to Michigan. He actually is a Midwest guy. Purdue has been down so long it kinda makes sense to get a "name" coach like Miles instead some MAC coach set up to fail.

Who in their right mind would want to go to Lafayette,IN? Don't think.Pyrdue is that much of a desired destination of many coaches.
