Nuk Hopkins
Jan 4, 2013, 1:32 PM

|
I am in Clemson today for basketball interviews, but I've talked to a few people close to Nuk Hopkins and wanted to share some info on the board. I talked to one person close to the situation who says that Nuk is "closer to staying" at Clemson than he was six weeks ago, and the main reason is South Carolina. He wants to beat the Gamecocks and of course be around for what could be a special year next year. Apparently Nuk wants a win over SCAR before he leaves. Now, is that enough to keep him here or really sway his decision? Probably not, but it's interesting to hear that he is telling people that.

I'd love to see that but I want him to make the best decision for himself. whatever that may be.

Whatever Nuk decides, he's deserving of our thanks and best wishes either way. I'd be ecstatic if he stayed, but happy for him if he went pro.
Dude's a class act, all the way.

Spot on.
Never caused a problem to anyone except opposing DBs...Great kid who's represented this university well.
I believe Dabo would not let him stay because of not having a W vs Carolina.

But I think it would be best for him to go this year rather than next. Not sure he can have better numbers next year. Only 1 football.

I wish some fans had the hunger to beat SCar like this
Jan 4, 2013, 1:53 PM
|
|
he went through a losing season he's won an ACC Title he's had a couple 10 win seasons he's beaten #8 LSU in miraculous fashion
but ya know what?........he can't STOMACH being completely OWNED by South Carolina
that all being said #1 he could still go, but the fact he might be saying that is great
#2 he needs to make the best decision for himself and not b/c he hasn't won that game.........and i think he will.
but i do like the hunger.......i hope some of that rubs off on dabo

vs South Carolina.
does dabo WANT to lose?......no, not saying that does dabo need to put for focus and emphasis on beating them? ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT
4 straight beaten by 10+ points EACH TIME......inexcuseable.......and then turn around and look like "world beaters" vs LSU??..........when we play SCar we are:
-unprepared -scared -tense -you name we fold
need a BIG attitude swag change in this team........very similar to that vs LSU.......only even MEANER and "thugier"

2009 we were better 2010 they were better 2011 & 2012 I think we were "equal" give or take a little each way, but the score reflected they were lightyears better..........................
even if they WERE better EVERY year I still expect to beat good teams......and NEVER lose 4 straight to them.......NEVER.......inexcuseable

I think if Nuke can run a sub 4.5 40 in the combine, he'll be a 1st rd draft pick. Therefore, it might be in his best interest to bolt...j/s

True, but wasn't CJ considered 1st round after junior year?
Jan 4, 2013, 2:05 PM
|
|
He wanted to come back and make to ACC championship and win a bowl game.
He did both (and tried to win ACC championship single handed) and then went 1st round after his senior year.
So, depends on what someone wants out of life I guess.

Yes CJ was going to be a mid to late (most likely late) first round pick. Getting that degree coupled with being the feature back and the possibilities of that upcoming season brought him back. (Also Dabo played a big role in this)
