With Dan Brooks retiring, could Rex Ryan join as DL coach?

Would he be interested? Would he be a good coach at that position? Seems like it. Thoughts?

Hate Coach Brooks is retiring, he is a great coach. Rex Ryan obviously knows his stuff and would be a great D coach, but I don't see him as a college coach. Interesting to ponder.

Well I think they will be allowing with a rule change an additional field position coach. So really we can fill Dan Brooks spot and then the new spot which most likely will be a special teams coaching spot.

The question with Coach Ryan, is, can he recruit? And would he enjoy the recruiting grind?

Being locked up here in Clemson North lol... but in the NYC metro, where the talk is all NY football, I would say:

Rex has the skill level and ability to produce..
Rex has been sandbagged by the media.
Rex was way over-rated as a Jets coach.
+ Rex was a real disappointment for the Bills.

= Rex is not the guy we want for the job.

He hasn't the personality, philosophy, or management style that our team runs on. Additionally cannot see him relating to kids. And knowing him, he wants bigger.
