Spencer Rattler seen in Cootlumbia. Beamer coached him one year at OU and has promised him the starting QB's job at the Coots. You heard it here.

Seems logical

That seems exactly the type of move the transfer rule was intended for. It benefits the player and the school he’d be transferring into.
The way coaches manage their backups is going to change over the next few years.

how does transferring from oklahoma to south carolina benefit the player? this isn't a shot at coots... this is a real question. no matter whoo transfers outta oklahoma, they're still gonna have better talent, better tradition, better history and just an overall better program than south carolina.

Start there and potentially show what he can do at the next level.
The benefit is the player's to determine.

why not transfer to a team that stands a chance at succeeding w/in their conference... like UCF, Cincinnati, etc..? even w/ more playing time, his stock is bound to go down at socar.

Not saying he's going there

And not saying it'd be smart if he did
But potentially he's thinking that if he's really going to show his ability for the next level maybe he needs to show he can elevate a team which is struggling (mightily) on offense. Or maybe just for perception he feels that if he can succeed against the perceived strength of SEC defenses he'd better elevate his NFL stock.

Joe Flacco transferred to Delaware which was AA (FCS).
Didn't seem to hurt his chances of getting to the NFL.

If you’re good you can show your talent at any school.

QB might be a little tougher, I’ll give you that. But South Carolina has had players drafted even in years where they suck. Which is a lot recently. Did you watch the 49ers game Sunday? Deebo Samuel is an absolute stud and showed his talent at SCar. If a player at any power 5 school is talented enough, he will show his worth. Also if you play around worse players, you may even shine more compared to playing around superior talent at an OU, Bama, etc

Probably a good move for Rattler if all he wants is playing time... There definitely isn't anyone better than Rattler on USuC's current roster which guarantees him the starting job. However, he will probably spend most of his playing time running for his life behind that weak OL. It won't take Rattler long to see why USuC has been a doormat in the SEC for most of their conference tenure.

Un-Portal himself and be the starter at Schoonerville after all. The guy who took his starting job is probably gone with Riley!

Now THAT would be interesting if Riley took his starting QB with him the USC! I think he's taking his QB coach too, so I guess anything's possible.

If Rattler transfers to USuC, he cares nothing about his future. They are losing a lot this year and he will be running for his life and no kicker to give him a field goal.

Rattler is a perfect name for a coot QB, but he’ll never live up to that name. Every coot QB rattles at first, but after about 30 mins of football they all make the same squishy noise.

Now this seems more likely. Or some other high profile team. Or maybe even Auburn? Or with Riley going to USC, Rattler is visiting the real USC....they can continue to torment one another there.
