Men's tennis at #4 Wake Forest at 1pm

Facing the #4 Deacs in about about hour.

Wake Forest is 12-4 and their only losses are to top 5 teams in the country.

We got smoked by #20 NC State on Friday so I would not expect too much from us against the 4th ranked team in the land.

They had a bit of a down year for them last year, dropping back to around 25. But they are back with a vengeance this year.

Suresh was the top player in NAIA and Koons was a solid #1 at JMU. They also added Franco Cabalbo, an Utah transfer who played #2 for them but he’s been out injured so far this year.

Contrasted with we only added one from the transfer portal. A backup player from FGCU who only does doubles.

We just don’t have that cache in the tennis world right now due to lack of recent success.

You may remember Andy Johnston, Clemson Women's Tennis coach and now in our HOF. Andy and I were in the same class and he roomed with a good friend of mine from HS our Freshman year so I got to know him fairly well.
