Not necessarily. Michigan could win out and stay above us. OSU may not play in a conference championship, but our game against VT may not elevate us much.

Let's say that we win out and Michigan also wins out. I don't see how we can jump ahead of them.

Michigan will have a pretty good resume. Beating Ohio State, a top 10 team even after the loss, at home. Then, their Big Ten title opponent could be a top 10 team as well.

Clemson doesn't have any good opponents left on the schedule. Our potential opponent in the ACC title game likely is Virginia Tech, who could be an 8-4 team. (I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to Notre Dame.)

I agree, under your scenario if Mich and Clemson win out, then we will be ranked #3 and Michigan #2. Mainly because of who they will have to beat in their conf champ game.
