If Watson is as good as advertised

And I have no reason to believe that he is not, do we waste a year of redshirt knowing that he may only be here three years anyway? Jameis and Johnny Football have proven that guys can spend a year on the practice squad and come in and start right away. I say, why not spend some time on the practice squad and get some real game experience when appropriate.

I'm all for red shirting him I think its the smart move but if he shows in the spring that he is the best then he should start! If he is not the starter coming out the spring then I think he should red shirt

I guess time will tell. How quick he picks up the O and such. Plus you never know about the other qb's. who get hurt (hopeully none, and so forth). Certainly being here for spring ball gives him and Clemson the maximum benefit for learning and growth in the position. A lot of qb is maturity and decision making stuff while managing the game.

He should red shirt. I'm sure Winston and Manziel were decent enough to play but don't think they would have been as dominant playing as a true freshman. Kelly will be our QB and Watson will have to beat him out in 2015. With Stoudt being so good as a pocket passer don't be surprised to see Clemson as a partial dual QB team next year.

Any other time, I'd say start him...

It's not very often though that you're in a situation where you have 3 legitimate starters. Let him sit a year and he'll be even more dangerous for us in 2015.

All depends on how good Stoudt and Kelly are

I couldn't care less who it is, as long as the coaches put the best one in. And if they think we need dual QBs, lets roll!

QBs before they set foot on campus.
(Cue the "Willy Korn's career was hampered by an injury" Byrnes crowd)

I like Willy but he couldn't hold DW's jock strap. We're talking about arguably the best player in Georgia football history. DW will no doubt be challenging Tajh's status as the best QB in Clemson history when he finally takes the reigns.
If Korn compares to anybody, it'd be Kelly imo.

Dude needs to lift right, eat right, study right, practice right.
If Cole and Swag stay healthy, 99 .9% he should redshirt.

My original point was, if we are only going to have Watson for three years, why don't we find him a way to contribute this year. A special package, the wildcat, something.

acclimated to college life in general and everything non-football related. Plus, he'll have time to hit the weights, put on some good lbs and learn more about Morris's offense...
