Will BC be decided in the fourth quarter?

The scenario is not crazy.
BC has a great running game. Keep us off the field. Hit a few long passes at key times.
We don't get the long TD's early.
It would take until the fourth quarter to wear them down.
I hope they are intimidated on the road and we have a 28 point lead at halftime.
However, I won't be surprised if it comes down to the last 5 or 10 minutes of the game.

So you don't think we are the best team in the country?

I think we are. I think we'll knock the hide off their running backs. I believe we have the perfect game plan for this one-sided offense and will crush and grind it to powder.
The toughest decision we'll have in the fourth quarter is whether or not to run Daniel Rod on fourth down to get his first TD.
BC could beat me because I'm overconfident but if they are expecting to actually win this game against the best team in the country they'd better run a different offense tomorrow. Yes, I expect out defense to win this game, Tajh can take the day off.

convert our third downs to keep possessions going and score early. they are not built for a comeback from a big deficit

Gurley is by far the best RB in the country

And we shut him and Marshall down. People thought that Syracuse would score at least 25 on us and look what happened.
BC wont get more than 2 touchdowns. I think itll be 45-14.

Ummmmm they rushed 28 times for 197 yards and 3 touchdowns. That's an average of over 7ypc. I really, really, really wouldn't ever want anyone to call that "shutting them down".
I know the response is going to be "well if you take away the 75 yard TD..."
First, the TD counts. Second, without it they still run for 122 yards and average 4.5 per carry and score TDs.
We absolutely did not shut down Georgia's run game.

BC is last in rushing defense in the ACC. Next to last

in total defense, 7th in pass defense (Wake Forest is 6th and we lit them up through the air), and 9th in scoring defense.
Barring just an overall poorly executed game plan, we should score 40+ against BC's defense.
As for our defense, we have been very solid against the run for 90-95% of each game, but we have had a few cases in several games where we lost gap integrity and gave up long TD runs. That aside, no one, including UGA with Gurley and Marshall, sustained drives by pounded the ball down our throat.

I think the 4th will decide whether or not we cover the spread. As far as the run defense, its been all or nothing. A team could carry the ball 35 times for 250 yards against us, but half of those yards come on 3 carries. Its not like teams are getting 5-7 ypc every single running play. We stuff it a lot of times.

If we play our game, it won't be close. BC is going to try to slow down the game, but our defense is good enough to get them off the field. Despite his fantastic start, Andre Williams was held to 38 yards on 17 carries against Southern Cal. I'm not saying we're going to do that, but I think our front line and LBs are big enough to slow him down.
Despite him getting good yards against a solid FSU defense, nearly 70% of that came within the first 20 minutes of the game...you know, when FSU was crapping the bed.
He's going to get his yards because he's a very good back, but if we play with heart, we will be able to slow him down enough to prevent him from changing the game.

Old Defense; Yes... This Defense; No. This D is the strength of this team, as will be proven over the upcoming weeks.
