What worries me about Saturday

Turnovers! We've have a history of turning the ball over a lot over the past ten-twelve years. Past 6 years our talent was so overwhelming it ne er hurt us. I don't think that's the case this year. Plus let's face it, our O has turned the ball over a lot this season. And how DJ will react to that crowd....I don't think he has ever faced a hostile crowd like that before. Notre Dame last year had a limited crowd due to covid. And no one we faced this year has a crowd like that. Our defense has to have a performance like they did against Georgia. Let's hope they do. I'm not worried about there offense at all. They are garbage fir the most part. But they're D is very good. And please, no special teams blunders like with UConn.

So your not worried about the Georgia offense. Garbage! Really! If garbage is 40 points against this same team we are facing Saturday, if garbage is 37 against Arkansas,34 against Florida,43 against Missouri ,and 41 against Tennessee, then I would love to have had that type of garbage against Georgia Tech, N .C. State, Boston College, Syracuse ,Pittsburg FSU and Louisville.

Yeah, but Clemson’s D has feasted on weak A-She-She teams that are all softer than Charmin.

My error. I meant to post scores by the Coot offense at home, where they are 5-1 and scoring on average 23 points a game. Granted their offense may be garbage, but on the road our offense has averaged right at 17 points a game.

We don't play Georgia Saturday. And when we did play them, we only have up three points to their offense. I don't understand your reply. Perhaps I missed something.

of Clemson/Carolina, and I never take anything for granted.
Using an old Army phrase, "Confidence is high," and I believe our men will rise to the challenge, particularly behind BV's Big Nasties on defense. No doubt the Gamecock defense will go after DJ, but I believe our potent RB's will plow the field. What I hope not to see are more of those cotton-picking laterals, which rarely seem to work, and which I believe are paying for the same real estate twice. Nor do I hope to see three successive run-it-up-the-middle calls at the Gamecock three yard line unless our O-line can lay down the wood to open freaking holes.

Butt, per the original poast, turnovers are the one thing that could sink us Saturday. They were certainly the deciding factor in the last couple wins of the Coot Five Bomb.
The Coots will almost certainly sellout to stop the run, forcing DJ to throw it to beat them. Any defensive coach worth his salt would, having watched us on offense this year.
In the end, players make plays in big games, and that is what will carry the day for CLEMSON.

Several of the offensive players did not grow up here. They are not familiar, first-hand, with the rivalry. Hope the senior guys can help the freshman and sophomores understand the importance of doing their jobs and protecting the football.
Coot fans will be well lubricated Saturday night. Sand storm will be blaring and white snot rags will be swinging. Chickens will be crowing. It will be loud!!!

Our turnover plus/minus from 2014-2020 has been +6, -2, -1, +4, +7, +15, and +8. That's +37 over a 7 year span. So, your contention that we turn it over a lot is incorrect.

Here’s my take. We are a better team on both sides of the ball. Offensively it’s a ##### hair…. Defensively it’s drastic. DJ is gonna struggle more than normal with the crowd and the jitters of the game. I know it seems impossible, but I think he plays worse than usual, but we win the game. 20-16 good guys. DJ throws for under 160 yards and 2 ints. RBs combine for 190 yards and 2 TDs. First 15 minutes will tell a lot.

The only thing I am worried about is SC stacking 11 on the line and DJ over throwing everyone with 100 mph fastballs. He's more than capable of that. As long as we can run effectively it should be an easy game with our defense.
