cause he is a terrible coach. Fischer left him a gold mine, and he picked up enough talent to go 7-5 minimum last year but lost the team. I mean he took DJ when he had better options. Another losing season and he is gone.

Norvell is not a good coach but your comment makes no sense.
1. Norvell didn't take over from Fisher. He was left Willie Taggart's mess.
2. Fisher left FSU an absolute mess after rotting the foundation of the program from 2015-2017 and burnt serious institutional support for the football program on his way out. Then Willie Taggart buried any semblance of a foundation there was left.
Norvell is a bad coach because he's a bad recruiter and poor in game coach. He's gambling every year with what he can get out of the portal. But he absolutely wasn't left a gold mine to squander.

And, Fisher left a cess pool, not a goal mine when he left. Fisher essentially didn't recruit anyone his last two years there. And, Taggart came in and made a bad situation worse. I won't bore you with the details, but when Norvell got the job the talent and culture was almost as bad as it was when Bobby came to FSU.
No excuse for what Norvell did last year. He has no one to blame but himself. He made a boat load of poor decisions (coaching, coaching hires, recruiting and development). Nole fans are hoping he learned from his mistakes. It appears he has, especially with the coaching staff. The jury is still out on whether or not he can turn it around quickly enough.

when a backup lineman tested positive after Clemson had travelled, when he knew he was going to lose, then lying and blaming the ACC after the fact, told me all I needed to know about him. Him wanting to play Clemson the following season, when Clemson’s leading rusher was out after testing positive for COVID and he thought he could win, just confirmed it.

Castellano might not be all-ACC potential, but he’s not a bad QB. He’s improved each year while at BC.
DJU started out at a higher level of skill (during his FR year with us), but developed more slowly (despite the good stats that he put up playing for OR State in the Powder Puff Conference).
That said about DJU and his mediocre play at FSU last year, he was a far cry from being FSU’s biggest problem. Their WRs were as bad last year as ours were in 2021. Same with FSU’s OL … every bit as sheety in 2024 as was ours in 2021. FSU of 2024 was far worse than Clemson of 2021 because we had a lights-out defense in 2021, whereas FSU had a mediocre defense in 2024 to accompany their putrid offense of 2024.

I love what one of the comments said in the comments section of the video: “Sounds like he's vicariously talking TO HIS team by talking AT the media. He doesn't sound confident that his team coming out of the spring is all in!”
He sounds like he’s trying to speak a “10+ win” team into existence rather than just being confidently hopeful. Kinda like when you have someone try to comfort you by saying “it will be ok” but it’s obvious that they are only saying this to themselves. If they say it over and over again then it must be true.

He has always been "excited and passionate" in the words of some.
Not exactly the best personna to show at the ACC media days for sure. But, I think he is just frustrated over last year, tired of talking about it, and passionate about making sure it doesn't repeat. I think he is sending a message to his players and coaches (as well as to himself) about the importance of being successful this year.
He knows what is at stake in the 2025 season. He knows he doesn't have to win 10 games and go to Charlotte, but he also knows that anything less than 8 wins will not instil confidence in him from the fans.
