The worst day in a man's life is

when his wife is right about a home project.
Wife: "Are you sure this is going to fit?"
Jimmy: "Yeah. Just have to lean it through the door and then rock it up right."
It didn't even make it through the door. Then I hacked off a section to get it in, and the lateral angle is still too wide to shift it into place.
Current status is stuck. I had to walk away before I set the whole thing on fire.
Will update.

A man should always, always cut twice and only measure once. Good job. I thought I was the only one like that. I also had to redo a project last weekend. Luckily for me, my wife wasn't around.

so it is cutting and not when your wife or girlfriend find out about each other- although worse would be if your wife and your girlfriend ending up running off with each other!

I had it as a wall-to-wall in all one module, so I needed the space of the guest room rather than assemble it in the closet. A much better approach I'm realizing now was to build it out in smaller individual modules. You lose .75" with each end board...but you know...it fits in the closet.

Each to what they like, but it looks to be made from that press board, and if so, it's not worth a second of trouble, and surely not worth scrapping the paint of the wall, and having to repaint bc of it.
My wife learned quick to never purchase those press board put together cases, that she married a man that had a small fortune invested in a couple table saws, band saw, chop saw, Sliding Compound Miter Saw, a skill saw, finish air nail guns-brad or nail, and I can build about any kind of book shelves or cabinets for the house that will last several life times!!!

work on having to finish bare wood. Plus, I used those in the toddler's room and they've done just fine. Once you caulk the seams it really looks like a built-in.

Pivoted. Put it back out and hacked off a top portion.

Pivoted again, and got it dang good and stuck. I had to walk away until tomorrow.
If/when I get it out, the plan is to cut off what's still usable, and rebuild it into three modular sections that's easier to slip in a tight space. I should have enough wood and what's left is probably salvageable even if I have to trim off the ends with the brad nails that'll get wrenched out.

I've had much worse days than that. Try losing a few million in a day. My wife is always right and I just learned that my first year of marriage and go along with it. Plus, she's a control freak. But, she was also a lot of fun all these 35 years, so I take it and part of those millions of dollars were hers and she didn't divorce me.
