I got engaged/married first year out of college, with former ot-wife still in school. Looking back, I didn't have a ton of dating experience in HS or college, with no real serious relationships except for very first GF. She didn't much either. I think we thought it was last love, but it wasn't. We should have never been married, which is why I look at the divorce as a complicated legal breakup.
Some people make it work. But IMO, you have no idea who you are (and developmentally, science suggests our personality is still evolving into mid-to-late 20s), so most people should have no business getting married to other people until they know themselves first.
Post married life was the experience I needed to be a better husband, and a more confident person. Amputee, crazyass alcoholic + domestic abuser, etc.
