My father got his masters at Clemson in the 50's. Learned the game watching games with my dad as a kid (have hated OSU ever since Woody Hayes punched Charlie Bauman in the Gator Bowl). I myself went to school there in the late 80's. Will be a proud Tiger till the day I die.

Maybe for you...when I attended CCC there were not enough women for pole or poll dancing...4 years ROTC, the real College experience watching a sub par football team...then years later having a real team with a real coach...little Ole Clemson was little no more! Makes fan out of most...many like and appreciate what Dabo has accomplished in those hallowed hills!

My father got tickets through work for the 81 championship game then went into the Navy after high-school and used the GI bill to go to Clemson.

I grew up being a Clemson fan. My Father was a fan of the Tigers and took me to many of their games. We also went to the Orange Bowl game each year to visit family. Many of the Orange Bowls had Oklahoma as one of the teams. Deep sea fishing was also on our agenda creating great memories that I have today. As years passed I took my son (and my daughters who wanted to go) to Clemson games. I really had no choice - how could I not love Clemson. I went to Clemson for my education and 2 of my five children graduated from Clemson.

My dad said the same thing! He was a huge Clemson fan and I started going to games as a kid in the mid 1970’s. Funny thing is he graduated from Wofford but said he would pay only if I went to Clemson. If Wofford was as expensive then as it is now I wouldn’t want to pay for that either.

I can vouch for that. Made that mistake. Even on partial scholarship, large chunk of dough. My parents admit two mistakes to this day: convincing me to go to Wofford and making me sell my first car before I ever really got to drive it (1968 Camaro).

Being from Greenville, Clemson is all I ever knew. Dad’s family was all SC fans but dad loved Danny Ford and his brand of football so coming up that is who I liked. Been a die hard fan my whole life! GO TIGERS!

I was born and raised in a Gamecock Family. I married into a Clemson Family. My Father-in-law was a 1943 Graduate of Clemson. Went to both Schools games together. On the night of "The Catch" in Columbia I had to fight my way out of the Stadium to protect My Wife and Her Family. I decided that night that I would never pull for them again. I have been a hard core Tiger since then. Have been a member of IPTAY since 1978!

When I was a kid my dad told me he had been all the way through Clemson. He grew up in Townville in the 40's and his family raised chickens to sell. Clemson use to buy from them and he would help my Grandfather make deliveries. Guess I became a fan back in the 70's.

although a Rock Hill neighbor's oldest son was a Clemson grad, who encouraged me to apply.
I immediately liked the location, scenery and inclusiveness of the campus itself, making most everything easily reachable by walking. Living in the tin cans, I made very close friends quickly and enjoyed the camaraderie on the halls. Toss in extra-curricular activities, and it became a recipe for the type of affinity I've retained to this day.

Being from Rock Hill , in high school (and against almost every social norm) my mom briefly dated a football phenom from the Catawba tribe named Buck George . He went to Clemson and starred on the football team in the early 50s. She was forever a Tiger fan. I came along in '69 and around '75 I determined that I , too...was going to be a Clemson fan. Tigers were my favorite animal then. That's how young minds work.
I'm so glad my mom knew Chief Buck George.

I recall Connie Wade who lettered in '66 and '67 was from Indian Land and think he was a member of the Catawbas as well. If not mistaken, also think he was a HS All American. Saw him play on the JV team vs Duke the '64 season.

We moved to SC in 89 when I was 9. Didn't really know about Clemson until 92 when my older sister started thinking about colleges. Grew up a Michigan fan (dad is UofM alumni). Sis went to Clemson for a college day visit in 93, we all fell in love with it. My dad paid for her and me to go. We were both in Tiger Band every year. Our younger sister ended up getting her Master at Clemson. Dad say he bleeds Orange and Blue now.

I’m saying 2 . My friends around me in elementary school were Clemson fans and my best friend at the time took me to my first Clemson game in a motor home a few times.
My dad’s a Gator fan but not really a big fan. My mom was a gamecock fan but never really showed her fandom around us.

An older cousin took me to my first game in 1959 at age 12. Tigers scored with about two mins left to take WF 33 - 31 and their future NFL QB Norm Sneed. Couple years later after getting a drivers license, began going to games frequently with friends. Saw the Tigers play in Sirrine stadium the next game after Wake and the 1962 game the last time they played there. After the AF, finished my degree, meeting my late wife and joined IPTAY in 1974. Had season tickets from 1975 thru 2007.

My dad is a die hard graduate and my entire family are Clemson fans. Went to my first game at age 1 against wake forest in 1978. We are season ticket holders. Growing up we went to all the the home games. Was at the NC in 1981 at 4 years old with my orange overalls on. Its in my blood.

Other- Inuses to go to games with my dad as a young kid. He would bring his FFA students along with us sometimes. I really loved the environment and still do enjoy watching a game in Desth Valley.
