Why aren't reporters asking our AD about the BB situation???
Feb 17, 2022, 7:46 AM

Our basketball program is obviously broken and from the looks of the last couple postgame interviews, so is our coach.
This falls squarely on the back of DRAD. Brownell should have never been allowed to continue coaching at a Div 1 program (Not to mention an ACC program) for this long with so little success. He should have probably been let go after year 5 or 7 but he always had the facilities excuse so maybe year 10?
Here we are at year 12 with what looks to potentially be the worst team in the ACC (please don't start winning GT). Isn't it time to start asking the tough questions about the future of our program?

at the end of the year it will be evaluated, and Neff will decide then. Everyone knows this so why ask to get an answer you already know?

They asked him at the football recruiting wrap up. He said Brad Brownell is doing a good job off the court, and just evaluating the rest of the season still going on.

Did he actually say "off the court" and excluded his performance on the court?

That was all we needed to hear. Didn’t mention on court performance once. It’s all about academics and staying clean, even though there are literally no rules anymore. Don’t expect any changes this off-season, and then next offseason the narrative will be that it’s not worth the buyout for just a couple years. Just hope he doesn’t have a decent year at some point or we’ll be complaining about this into the 2030s

When we were fun to watch. I won’t even watch Brownlee on tv at this point. The best thing we can do for our university is to not watch and not show up. It might be the only way to get change to occur. Because Neff literally doesn’t care if we go 0-32 every year as long as the P&L looks decent and he doesn’t have to answer to the ncaa.

Too B ,or not two B. Because it's not a story until the season is over. But if I were a reporter I would ask BB if he was practicing with bowling balls instead of basket balls. Anyway you spin it, there just too many BB's to talk about.

Maybe nobody thinks it is broken. Pull up conference records all over the nation, teams lose.

How is it broken? We are having a down year no doubt but that is what happens when you dont invest or support a program except at sustainable levels. There is no margin for error so youth plus an injury or two can derail a season. Should be much better next year with the incoming class plus returning players.

Why such optimism for this incoming class? 3 players, all 3 star. Ranked by 247 as 10th in the conference, and 39th overall. Seems like more of the same to me. Good to see a few forwards coming in rather than the typical group of 6'0" guards I guess. At least in '19 and '20 we had a 4 star or two to give us some hope - we haven't had that even the last two classes.

Unfortunately, I think there was only one reporter at the last post game press conference.

Finally BB is starting to feel the heat. His poor excuse of recruiting better players just reflects on his lack of ownership of the problem. Its always easy to blame others. We should not spend one more minute w/ him as coach after his remark of blaming the players for not being good enough.

Because reporters are like Clemson fans

They only care about three sports -- football, spring football, and football recruiting. The remainder of the sports never get noticed by Clemson fans unless they are struggling. One loss at Clemson, no matter what the sport, brings out the Fire The Coach crowd.

He signed an extension last fall after making the NCAA Tournament last season. New AD has been on the job less than four months. Program will be evaluated at the end of the year.
