The ACC controls the conference schedule

No other reason.

Because Washington Duke was born near there in 1820

And founded the university in the area where he lived. Had he been born close to Charlotte or Asheville then perhaps the game woulda been there instead of Durham

We were originally supposed to play Wofford that weekend but they backed out of playing us since Pitt gave them more money.

Ahh okay, thank you very much!

Because: Duke Is Supposed To Be Good This Year. And,

1

Duke is supposed to be good this year; with 17 starters back off a 9-4 team.

Two years in a row for Clemson as a matter of fact on the road! (Georgia Tech L.Y.).

Somebody thinks if Clemson gets a good game with a National TV audience against an ACC opponent; it will do "something"!

Or something. I don't know.

Ridiculous.

The location of the game was announced in June 2022 BEFORE

Duke played any of the 9 games they won last year. It was our year to play on the road against Duke, we didn’t have a non conference opponent for week 1, there wasn’t another suitable Labor Day night prime time game for the networks to choose from; viola - Clemson v Duke on opening weekend! If you’re gonna move the needle from an ACC perspective for a nationally televise game it’s Clemson, FSU or Miami period. FSU is already playing Sunday, Miami stinks, so we’re all the conference has left.

Any one, anyplace, any time. Spot the dang ball and we’ll whoop ‘em.

Glad it will be on National TV on a Monday / Holiday night!

The conference requires every team to play on off nights like Labor Day, Thursday night, and Friday nights. Clemson has said they would prefer to play those on the road because of the challenges those games cause for the University.

Not every team. All of UNC's 2023 games are on Saturdays***

They’re (ACC) doing so in an effort to keep UNC from leaving for Big10***

That think SMU and Rice are legit options.

Because that is where Duke is.

Duke has a stadium larger than any...

high school stadiums in five states. Duke seats tens of dozens of people.

Honestly, pretty sure it will hold everyone who wants to go.

It’s their regular “home game” just like Georgia Tech was the home team last year.

Ga Tech chose to close off the upper sections of the Dome and still there were plenty of tickets.

This year, Duke chooses to play in Wallace Wade and once again, there will be plenty of tickets.

If it was our home game we’d be playing in DV.
