Going down at 1 yard line would have been the smart thing to do but not sure I could have done that.

no that would have been ridiculous to go down at 1. we hadn’t moved the ball all half. who knows if you score from 1. take the lead. you only go down if you have lead

I was on the fence. I said the same too - maybe it might've been smarter to go down on like the 1 inch line to drain the clock before punching it in.
But they were so effective in shutting down the run today that I felt at peace with Cade just taking it in and hoping the defense did enough to hold on.

Not only that but you all saw what happened on Pitt's late FG drive. 1st and goal at the 2 they end up with a 4th and 16. When the game has gone like that, take the TD and come what may.
