We had a fire alarm go off at the hotel in the middle of the night before the game.
We sat there to the very end of the game.
I saw Jamie Trimble in 97 working as a bar tender in Charleston and was talking to him about Clemson.
He asked if I was a Clemson fan... I said, "I was there to the last second at the Gator Bowl." His reply was, "Oh... that was you!" lol
I don't think it will be anywhere near the same outcome this weekend!
Go Tigers!

I should have known to abort the trip to Jax when my dad and I accidentally rolled down the window and one of our original Tiger Rags flew out and met a rubbery death on I-95.
Things went downhill from there.

until the last minute. It was my freshman year and I was already in love with Clemson football after just 1 season. I didn't want them to lose like that and had faith that the team would do something eventually.

20 yard line, bottom row. It was UUUUGLY! The ride home was really a long one. I remember the game being accented on a regular basis by the smell of the paper mill in Jacksonville.

midway through the third quarter when I realized he hadn't made any halftime adjustments. We were out-coached, out-played, and out-reffed. We had such high hopes after dismantling scar a few weeks earlier. We lost our car flag just outside of Savannah on 95 and I got in a fight at the hotel the night before the game.
We did have pretty nice seats though.

3:30 ABC regional broadcast and a 35-0 butt-whipping. That was a longer ride home than the Gator Bowl for me.
