It has to be the Dabo Swinney part about Clemson that Finestinkshit really don't like about Clemson FB bc, before Dabo Swinney there was Tommy Bowden that also had some success at Clemson and Finestinkshit wasn't ever using Clemson as one of his punching bags on his show.
IMO it's Dabo Swinney that Finestinkshit wants to pick a fight with kind of like everything else he's used to write one of the worthless books that he writes, and his continuous harping on Dabo is just him laying the groundwork to later write a book about Dabo and all the reasons why he disliked Dabo so much as HC at Clemson...
Maybe somebody should poison all the plant life on his property and leave snap shots of Dabo laying around to give him a real reason to hate Dabo so much. About the only other real reason he has is the beat down that Dabo's Clemson put on his precious best ever Bama offense in the history of Bama FB that he bragged about so much before Dabo and Clemson beat that offense down...

Can we though? We haven't made the playoff since NIL and the transfer portal started. Once we get back to the playoff I'll buy Dabo's method. Until then, I'm standing on the belief that he's being a curmudgeon and is unwilling to adapt more than being "innovative" and "standing by his guns" as some people think.

I don't think Clemson can win the NATTY doing it the way they did it before. The NIL and the Transfer Portal have completely changed the game. Unfortunately Dabo doesn't care for either. Maybe the player suing the Florida (UF) head coach Napier over the NIL will finally cause the powers to be (noticed I did not say the NCAA!!!) to address it, to fix it, and to put major guardrails on it. There is absolutely NO reason a high school recruit should be paid $13.9 million dollar$ to come to college to play football, and receive a $500,000 dollar signing bonus. This whole thing has gotten away from us and spiraled out of control!!! And it has ruined college football, turning it into everything that is ugly with the NFL. Dabo knows his tenure is getting closer to being over. He has said he wouldn't tolerate the college game turning into what it is now. It is insane to give an unproven high school player $13.9 million dollar$ AND pay for his scholarship. The college football world has gone insane!!! And programs like Clemson are not designed to succeed in this environment with it being a smaller school, in a failing conference, and not situated in a good market area environment. The NIL is built more for the SEC and BIG-10.

outside of those who have actually interviewed Dabo one-on-one for their pieces, have gone full loony on Dabo and Clemson and how dare he choose this HS and recruiting development path and such over portaling in other programs' kids. What I've heard has been very emotional and over the top, and taking many elements to the extreme. Dabo has had that effect on many over the years - he's a different cat than most and doesn't fit neatly into any one category. This round has been extra crazy I guess because it's easier to pile on with having a few less dazzling seasons here lately.

IMO I believe that intoday’s world people of responsibilty are not to espouse religion or belief in a strong family environment. If you then you are to be ostraized. That is what PF and others of his ill are doing to Dabo. It takes an incredibly strong person to do what Dabo is doing.
That being said, if you read some of the recruits comments, they see how the portal has screwed up college sports. Its not about education for most schools. And if a coach can est itselbuy a player who might be more highly rated they might tell the hs recruit “thanks but don’t need you, bye “. Smart recruits see this and also see that Dabo does’t do that. That is starting to manifest itself already. And Dabo is starting to reap the benefits. Keep doing what you are doing Dabo. Ignore the sheep who can’t think for themselves.

I don’t think it’s exactly pulitzer price worthy journalism to state Clemson has fallen off from where they were back in 2020.
The odd part is stating FSU has clearly surpassed Clemson after 1 victory that came down to the last play. If losing to a team declares you’ve been surpassed as a program, go with Duke who much more convincingly beat Clemson. Especially after FSU got totally embarrassed by UGA . How can anyone declare that program is in anyway stable enough to surpass anyone

PF has always hated Dabo and Clemson and always will besides last year we have had a 10+ season im not going to complain everyone is all about this transfer portal thing well let's look at how many teams have went out and got most there squad from it and still can't get 10 wins or 8 so that portals not everything I bet Clemson make it back to the CFP this year paul.

But, to me, he has falling so far behind, and that doesn't mean they can't have a good program, that is if you call 9-3 or 8-4 or maybe an occasional 10-2 a good program. But that's not the same school that went to six consecutive CFPs a couple years ago, that played for four national championships -- I think that part of it is over.
“And Dabo Swinney may think he's smart and playing this antediluvian game of 'This is how it's always going to be,' but that's not the way things are. This week is indicative of that in college football. It has changed so quickly in the last three years, and if you missed a minute, you fell behind. He missed three years, and he is way behind and he's not catching up.”
What this idiot fails to realize is what made Clemson a premier school for the 2011-2020 era. It is culture, tradition, history, and the overall atmosphere at Clemson. Having great facilities and a coaching staff that genuinely cares about your life choices and wellbeing provides additional value for becoming a Clemson Tiger. I cannot wait for Coach Swinney to prove Finebaum and the pundits wrong. The only reason why we're missing the mark on some of the coveted recruits for the previous 3-4 years is caused by knee-jerk reactions of the new portal and NIL system. It will consume itself because the current model for the rest of collegiate sports is not sustainable for any program. If Clemson stays the course with DABO SWINNEY, the Clemson Tigers will come out on top and ride a 10 to 15-year dynasty run. All Clemson fans have to do is be patient, be happy with a few 10 or 11-win seasons and whenever the portal and NIL begins to implode then it will be a thing of beauty. All Coach Swinney has to do is capitalize from the implosion.
In the meantime, Paul Finebaum can go pound sand!

I believe Finebaum is conflating things. I am a huge Clemson fan and I don’t think Dabo will be coaching college football in three to five years. If DJ or Cade played like 5 stars, I think he would have already hung it up with a 3rd Title.
No same Clemson fan is calling for Dabo to leave. If the NCAA does away with walkons, I believe that will be the last straw with Coach Swinney. It will truly no kk get be the game he loves.

Finebaum forgets the national championship insulating blanket. Joe Paterno went 25 years after his last national championship team (Like Dabo he won 2) before being forced out by non-football reasons...good reasons, but that it not the point. 25 years without being undefeated ever again, but his postion as coach was unquestionable. He won the conference a couple of times but stumbled along with alot of 3 and 4 loss seasons and even one season where he went 1-7. It took a pedophile and Joe being too focused on football to take it seriously for him to be kicked out.

The choice these days is between having a happy harmonious team where student athletes play for 3-4 years, and having a team of individuals linked only by winning filled with athletes more than students, these stars serving as renters using the schools for greater exposure and NIL dollars, "matriculating" purely for athletic advancement.
It is tough for the former to win against the latter. Swinney's future will be determined by how well the old model can do competing with the new one, and how many wins are "good enough". My impression is that every coach would like to do it Swinney's way, but the others don't have his value system and bank account to take the risk of ignoring the portal, which Swinney does. He is a "my way or the highway" guy despite his claims that he would consider a portal arrival if it was a perfect fit. His program appears to be the only one in ESPN's top 15 for 2024 with no portal arrivals.
We Clemson fans will end up having the last word, and our decision will come down to whether we want Clemson to be a modern university or a place where the somewhat out of date values Swinney espouses remain the Clemson culture. Swinney's departure, if it happens, will become a frequently repeated cautionary tale for the notion that in athletics, things change and you must change with them, that professional athleticism is a career track and modern universities must make all the necessary changes to welcome "renters" into their athletic programs if they want the big dollars that come to a university from a winning and big time football program.
Finebaum's view is a cynical one and yet the most likely outcome. It will be hard to remain upbeat and supportive of the Swinney approach if other ACC teams, and especially FSU, dominate year after year.

One of my all time favorite memories and I don't even like Ohio State, but it was after they'd beaten Alabama in the first ever playoff season. Finebaum and the crew looked like they were going to cry after the game. I laughed so hard.
Then, finebaum had a long time feud with Harbaugh at Michigan. Harbaugh called him 'Pete' Finebaum, in other words, he wasn't relevant to anything important. I forgot to check out the SEC network after that game and see the look on Pete's face after Michigan beat them last year. Say what you want about Michigan, but beating Bama was cool to me.
I have no idea why anyone would watch this clown's show or why it's on the SEC Network in a good time slot. It baffles me why anyone cares what this little turd thinks about anything or anyone. His show is stupid, a radio call in show on television? What's the point of that? My team is joining the SEC this year, unfortunately, and we have to deal with clowns like this. I'm not thrilled by this. We are now official members of the most cheating conference in America and I'm not excited about playing the cheating Aggys again.

What it is with this person no name needed. Does it bother him that much that we beat Alabama twice and very well close to 3 times. Now I will agree that we need to dip into the portal for a need right away where you may be lacking in an area but he is speaking out of his backside. All the same....have this so called expert explain why his boy Saban got out. He got really tired of this whole dynamic of the transfer portal within his very school. How about that?

I think Dabo is an excellent coach and leader that definitely has what it takes to play at a high level and continue to win championships. With that said, I could see him walk away from the game he loves due to what NIL and the TP have done it, just like Saban did.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over the rat eared weasel. His days of living off the success of Alabama are ending.
This new coach won't live up to Saban and even though that's unfair to expect , Alabama fans will expect it.
For those unaware. Georgia has replaced Alabama as the annual favorite and that continues as long as Smart remains.
Also the addition of Oklahoma and now Texas to an improving league ( see Mizzou ) there will be fewer still headlines about ' Bama save they dare go 9-3 or worse. Very possible
