Which game turned the program around?

I think multiple can be considered.
Auburn 2011 FSU 2011 ACCG Vs VT 2011 LSU 2012 UGA 2013 Orange bowl OSU 2013 ND 2015
I'm inclined to say LSU 2012 really put us over the edge. Staff and roster really had a belief at that point. I hate to go as far as 2015 but some may feel that way. Auburn 2011 is a close 2.

Same here. Boyd with the massive balls, Hopkins breaking the reception record, 4th and 16, Sammy out first play. That LSU team was stacked as well. That's when I thought we were legit.

players were jawing with 2 Clemson players..and when Coleman saw what was going on he marched right up,put his helmet on and smacked the Vol! He put the Tiger back in our tank that day. I saw him at Spring practice the next spring. When he walked past me I said,"The Tennessee VOL SMACKER!!" and he flashed those gold teeth at me. I hope he is doing well....

That's a great pick too, Bret. Would not have gotten hired likely without that win. Who knows where we would be now. Gary Patterson and Muschamp were a few of the leading candidates.

LSU. That was definitely the game Clemson "was not supposed to win", and when we did the way people viewed Clemson changed. Not to say there were not bumps in the road after that but people viewed the program different. Repeated success has since made us invincible to national perception ups and downs.

All of those were key, but for me, ending the most improbable streak in sports history by beating the coots after 5 losses allowed us to move to rarefiied air. It's ironic, because we were beating some elite teams, but it took beating those chumps to get to the next level.

I don't hate the pick. I didn't include it because it felt personal instead of national.

Also a great pick, Spud. Was thinking more of the wins, but that was a historic day for me. Came home from school and dad told me Bowden was done. I cried. Bowden was boss to me. So many childhood memories.
As far as games that shifted the program, youre correct. Should've stated WINS that changed the program.

Yep but if it doesn’t have to be a win I would say the Maryland game in the opener that year. Rex Varn’s pick 6 before the half gave the entire team the belief they could compete with a Top 10 team. Marylands QB broke his hand in the 3rd game so they fell out of the rankings but he was a preseason Heisman candidate.

100 yard pick six as I recall. I remember coming out of that game feeling like we had won, especially after the previous 2 years

Great post and options of games, but I think you’ve also got to include 2014 Oklahoma in there. We took a step back that year and had a lot of adversity with Deshaun’s injuries.
Oklahoma is a top brand like those others, and for us to dominate them like we did set the tone for the biggest turn around in 2015 with Deshaun coming back.
But of your games, I’d say Georgia 2013. That’s an incredibly tough game to win. We showed legit national championship level play during that game for the first time. And it was the follow up to LSU to validate it. After this game is when I knew there were real things coming for the program. Even though we got obliterated by the best team in college football history in my opinion (FSU), we finally showed elite status.

It's got to be LSU in 2012, but the momentum was only fueled by hunger.
That hunger started in 2006 vs GT. That game was the day all of Clemson knew we could be on top again.
2011 at VT has to be on this list as well. Man, leaving the stadium that night felt so good. You could feel the momentum building.
