I do think he has been rocked to the core, but I hope the man I think I know is going to get off the mat and come out fighting. If not, the rest will take care of itself, but I am not ready to give up on someone who has meant so much to us through the years.

Fully and totally agree with you I’ll take my chances with him. He earned the chance to fix it

The issue I think a lot of people have is..

How do you fully trust someone to fix a problem, that they helped create in the first place.

Feels like if he could fix it, would of been fixed at this point.

I think he felt a lot of loyalty to his players that he recruited, and to the culture he established, which had been pretty good to him for a lot of years.

Having said that, I believe reality has kicked him where it really hurts and he can no longer hang on to the past. He is stubborn but he is not stupid. I don’t know how it all will end but I think he values his legacy and does not want it to end this way, and will do all he can to get it corrected.

See that’s where we differ.

I think we’ve seen enough from Dabo to know that he values relationships a bit more than he does legacy. That’s just my opinion though.

I think he can accomplish both. We will see…

Dabo has always been a youth pastor - nothing wrong with that

But youth pastors get old and are no longer respected by the youth they are pastoring.

I think we have zero reason to expect anything other than for him to give it his all. That, I think, is no concern at all.

He needs to be careful and intentional about his next hires. I think he should get someone else to help him with this, because the last several have shown he really can’t evaluate.

I don’t disagree but the world thought Riley and Allen were HR hires at the top of their games at the time, coordinators of the year, etc. same with DJ and Cade coming out of HS.

I don’t think consultants would have felt any different about those at the time. Luke is also a great hire in my mind but he needs to get his recruits in place and coach them up.

Not Penn State fans. Did you see TCU’s offense against Georgia? I think Dabo needs to go against the grain sometimes…don’t go for the easy answer.

Everyone talks bad once a coach says he is leaving. TCU O hung 51 on Michigan but got curb stomped against UGA, but I don’t think anyone was going to beat them that night.

Fair enough. Nevertheless, I our offense is poor fundamentally, we are not a well coached offense. I think whatever Dabo thought he saw in Riley is not there.

No argument here. My only thing on Riley is whether he really does have full control of the offense. Maybe he does. The dynamic between he and Dabo seems very strained, especially on game day.

True, but that’s all about scheme and play calling I think. What I’m seeing is poor fundamentals/technique, missed assignments, missed reads.

I hope you’re right, but the vibes I get from him say he thinks we’re just not putting offense & defense together in a “complementary” fashion yet. He thinks that’s the problem.

The “problem” is what is causing the lack of continuity and complementary play, which is what he is going to have to address.

My thoughts exactly. I hope this embarrassment lights a fire in Dabo and causes him to go on a warpath. If not ... I don't know.

Some of you Clemson fans seem to be enjoying this down period and feel the need to keep bringing it up.

Go watch the Hallmark Channel for a few hours and then check back in here.

I’ve had managers I didn’t think were good. Pastors I didn’t care for, thought there was better out there. Boy,,,,when their replacements showed up, I had a bad case of foot in mouth, buyers remorse, sorry for thinking I knew better.
We Tigers fans have seen worse.
