whether he stepped out or not is not the point

Sep 20, 2013, 1:51 AM

personally, i am thrilled that the ref called him out of bounds. i have looked at the picture everyone here is pointing to as evidence that the refs got it right and, i'm sorry, but i see a very thin line of green between his cleat and the chalk. maybe my eyes are deceiving me. but, know what, who cares! it's about moving on to the next play. yes, it hurt their momentum, drained their spirit. but we had tons of scoring chances all game and repeatedly failed to cash in; State fans are no doubt whining about one of their 2 or 3 chances to score that they didn't capitalize on. who here thinks we won't be on the wrong end of a ref's mistake this season? we will, and we better be ready to turn the page and ramp up the intensity. to have a "special" season, you're gonna have to have breaks along the way. at the end of this day, i'm sure as heck glad we benefited from a big break tonight, rather than the other way around. *zero* guilt!

Well said.

You need breaks and you need the ball to bounce your way sometimes to have a special season.

I saw it many times the year Auburn went all the way.

We miss a field goal against Auburn in overtime and they keep momentum in a big win and we spiral downward and go what, 6-7. To start that season Auburn should had lost the week before to Miss State but they squeaked that out. Ball bounced their way a lot that year and they should had lost a few games but didn't.

I hope ball will continue to bounce our way

I too am glad he stepped out of bounds,
but the point is I hate to win ,or lose a game
because of a bad call.
And State got a bad call.
Still, the bigger issue or me is once again a Clemson team went into a hostle enviroment, and managed to play down to the level of their competition.
We needed to bury them,to have finished them by half time. That is what Oregon did to Tennessee.
My point is when was the last time you saw a Clemson team destroy a Division one team like that?

Think about the days when we did not replay, the call on the field was the call, end of it. I have seen the picture and he is clearly on the line and that means he is out of bounds. I think that the ref that made the call not only made the right call but did an awesome job of it as well.
