Are all of your comments idiotic? Try to break the mold and see if you can come up with something intelligent. Give it a chance. Don't be so insecure.

The real result of Trump's policies ...
But you won't hear any of the Trump apologists on here criticizing it. Nope. Instead you just get stupid, snide little comments from ######## like Keowee who will try to downplay the detrimental effects of having a conman in charge.

EV with a range extender. I said the same thing Lakebum1 said about the Scout plant 2 years ago--with VW's financial problems, I'd be surprised if any vehicle ever comes off the assembly line there.
I get that I only hang out with a bunch of rednecks, but nobody i know will buy one.
I didn't understand why they weren't making the new Scout being an EV an option when EV's were selling; I sure don't understand building a plant to only make that now.

Hybrid and EV batteries are not the same

[ in reply to Where's your data? Article even addresses that hybrid sales are ] |

Automakers went balls deep into EV's due to political/environmental policies and now it's biting everybody in the asss because they unsurprisingly are not selling well. Ford is trying to give back equipment it purchased 2 years ago for EV lines. Polestar is a mega flop and has really put a hurting on Tier 1 and 2 suppliers that tooled up for it.
Hybrids will probably continue to gain market share and then taper off, but production facilities already exist to meet the demand for them.

I went to a meeting with Scout a few years back and they were estimating EV's would have a ~ 30% market share by 2030. No idea where they got those projections but it seemed absurd to me at the time. For whatever reason, those are the kind of projections companies have been looking at and it's simply not panning out
EV subsidies are also being dialed back in a lot of countries, so I imagine that's putting some pressure on sales.

try and tap-dance around the damage that his policies, and MAGA policies in general, are doing. They know he's the root cause of their problems, but still try to tap-dance and act like he's not the root of the problem.
Gov. Henry McMaster, while speaking to reporters, pointed to uncertainty in Washington, D.C., as a reason.
“We hate to see that happen, but a pause is OK,” he said, noting a temporary suspension last week at Volvo’s Lowcountry plant.
The staunch supporter of President Donald Trump said “there’s no doubt” that changes must be made to international trade policy, while recognizing the administration’s roller coaster tariff announcements will have an effect.
“The tariffs are going up and down, and some of those are being paused,” McMaster said.
He also addressed the uncertainty of what Republicans’ massive bill on taxes and spending will do for the electric vehicle industry. As passed by the U.S. House, the bill would eliminate electric vehicle tax credits, both for people who purchase new or used electric vehicles and those who install EV charging stations at their homes or business. It’s unclear what the Senate will do.
Regardless, McMaster said he’s confident that South Carolina’s economy, “despite all the ups and downs, is still going up, up, up.”
He said he’s communicating with South Carolina’s delegation, company officials, and the White House.
“Let things play out, because all of these changes are taking place,” the governor said. “So, I’d say, relax if you can. … We believe that, give it some time, and it’ll work out.”

From large food processors.to construction companies, to agriculture, to hospitality enterprises, you hear over and over, “Well I voted for Trump but thought they were only going to deport criminals. We don’t want to deport our employees. They are our friends and contributing to the community. They are good people, have families and have been here for years.”

Yes...I.knew you were dumb enough to bring that up. That isn't the issue in the case in SC. Yes batteries are bad for landfills. Yes, oil is bad as well. It was about transferring that oil across that land. That's your new name. Shytforbrains
