It is possible to kill people without guns.

It is virtually impossible to kill, say, 61 people like the Vegas shooter, without multiple high round magazines and high-velocity non-hunting rifles, short of a massive detonation like in Oklahoma City 3 decades ago. Your attempted argument is stupid and you should feel bad.

What qualifies as “hyperbolic” about a non-hunting high velocity/high round rifle? Let’s use a .223 AR-15 as an example.

Lots of people hunt with them, velocity is not the be all end all of energy transfer(mass plays a part too!), and anything semi automatic can be a "high round" firearm. So calling an AR-15 a "non-hunting high velocity/high round rifle" is indeed a hyperbolic, nonsensical way to describe it.

them on their property for coyotes, it's a good rifle for that. What kind caliber do the people in your hunting circle use? I certainly hope it's not a higher velocity than the .223 round!
Seems like body armor might not be a terrible idea if you're hunting on public land. Is body armor super dangerous too or something?

armadillos and hogs with ARs is fun, but not something I'd classify as "hunting". That's more "culling a nuisance population". Hunters, in my experience, typically use long guns and shotguns for deer and birds, and have no requirement for high-round magazines. You have to use plugs in 5 shell guns for ducks, even. If actual hunters aren't clamoring for high-round mags, then who is, and why? Do you need 15 or 20 shots at the coyote? Is there a large crowd of coyotes at a coyote gathering?

it fits the definition of the word. That's kind of like a saltwater fisherman saying freshwater bass fishing isn't really fishing. Back at my old house there were packs of coyotes, I never counted but certainly more than a few. At our new house we've got fox families that like to snag little doggies. Maybe if you're Chris Kyle you could kill 2 per bullet or something before they all scattered.
But really, when you boil it down nobody owes anyone else an explanation as to why they need a 20 or 30 round magazine. It's not anyone else's business.
You have a handgun, no? How many rounds does it hold? Want to know what changed my perspective on home defense? 5 dudes kicked in my parents neighbors front door and robbed them in the middle of the day. Let's face it, most people have firearms for self defense. Given the fact that most home invaders/robbers work in teams, I don't think it's unwise to have the capacity to handle that with a few left over. As we learned during the 2020 riots, firing a round or two won't necessarily keep them from coming at you.

much more gun crime than other countries. There have been some bad mass shootings for sure, but we do have one of the highest rates of mental illness in the world as well. That said, mass shootings do happen in other developed countries.

Hope there's no chance of flames & explosions burning buildings down and causing massive casualties, loss of life, or property damage.
Probably better ban them bows & arrows!

lol, this is why I really hate identity politics
Ethnically, the residents of Norway are predominantly Norwegians, a North Germanic ethnic group. In Northern Norway there is a population of Sami people, who claim descent from people who settled the area around 8,000 years ago, probably from continental Europe through the Norwegian coast and through Finland along the inland glaciers. As of 2020, an official government study shows that 75.2% of the total population are ethnic Norwegians (born in Norway with two parents also born in Norway).[11] The national minorities of Norway include: Scandinavian Romani, Roma, Jews, and Kvener, as well as a small Finnish community.
In the last decades, Norway has become home to increasing numbers of immigrants, foreign workers, and asylum-seekers from various parts of the world. Norway had a steady influx of immigrants from South Asia (mostly Pakistanis and Sri Lankans), East Asia (mainly Chinese), and Southeast Asia/Pacific Islands (e.g. Filipinos), Eastern Europe (e.g. Russians) and (Central Europe Poles), Southern Europe (Greeks, Albanians and people from former Yugoslavia etc.), and Middle East countries (especially Iraqis and Kurdish Iranians), as well as Somalis, Turks, Moroccans, and some Latin Americans. After ten Eastern European and Baltic countries joined the EU in 2004, there has also been a substantial influx of people from Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Immigrants constituted 14.7% of the population at the start of 2020, 3.5% were born in Norway to two immigrant parents, 5.2% to one foreign-born and one Norwegian-born parent and 75.2% born to two-Norwegian born parents.[12] The same year, 19% of births in Norway were to immigrant parents.[12] In 2006, non-Western immigrants constituted 75% of the total number of immigrants. They contribute much of the population growth. Among people of African descent in Oslo, almost 60% are younger than 30, compared to 20% of those of North American background.[13]
As of 2020, an official government study shows that more than 1,333,620 people (24.8%) living in Norway are either first-generation immigrants or have one or two foreign-born parents.[14]
Of these 979,254 immigrants and their descendants (born in Norway with two foreign born parents):
401,407 (41%)[14] have a Western background (Australia, New Zealand, North America, elsewhere in Europe) 577,847 (59%)[14] have a non-Western background. In 2012, of the total 660 000 with immigrant background, 407,262 had Norwegian citizenship (62.2 percent).[15]
