Pretty sad actually … when one of the most viewed sports networks lacks integrity and is the most self-serving.

Because this will solidify the “strength of schedule” argument, and you had better believe the 12 humans who rank the playoff teams in the end will come to heed the voice of the network that owns the broadcast of the playoffs.
Soon it will be a given that a 7-5 Florida team is better than a 9-3 Clemson team (which is what this current index shows).
Easy to see how a similar argument would be made that 9-3 ole Miss is better than 11-1 or 11-2 Clemson.
Translation? Alabama and ole Miss aren’t getting left out this year.

Well Clemson needs to change the narrative so to speak by showing it on the girls if play and beating everyone on their schedule and at least going deep in the CFP playoff. On a side note I hope when the contract is up in 2036 with this trash network that Clemson is playing in the BG10 which I believe is Fox sports.

this plus preseason polls do matter in that it is what the committee with base their first rankings on. team A has x amount of wins over top 25 teams. those top 25 wins are based from the preseason poll as they play the games in the year leading up to the first poll

I agree with you whole heartily. Nothing but a bunch of ESPN (SEC) idiots trying to stir up as much nonsense as they can. Let’s kick it off and we shall see.

Could ESPiN (DISNEY Conglomerate) BE more obvious?? It's too bad that there is no way for the other leagues to boycott playing those teams. They have to beat them (and the game officials).

And, like spring hill tiger and others have noted…the “assumptions” that validate unbeaten FSU getting completely left out of the playoffs (I know…don’t validate their lies) and ACC getting trashed before the season even starts….despicable…and yes all the “smack talk” by espn does impact our season/teams future…
Go Tigers!!

ESPN and the SEC is the biggest sports-circle jerk I've ever seen.
It's like watching 2020 drug manufacturers tell us that COVID Vaccines were perfectly safe and effective. The ESPN/SEC narrative is just as transparently idiotic.

suit against them. they locked the teams in with a massive gain of rights clause. then give the league peanuts as a deal. then to top it off they bury them at every turn as a conference..while propping up the other conference and giving them boat loads of cash.

When it comes to college football, ESPN is the SEC and has been for years.

pushing a 5 plus 11 at large format is based on new committee selection criteria. and best believe they want this fpi to be a factor. thats why on the surface it sounds good. but when the criteria is stacked in one conference favor to get 8-9 of those 11 spots due to them being ranked higher due to a skewed bias power ranking system put out by the company who has a massive media rights deal with them. they may as well put each sec team ad be on the committee to select

Thank goodness the games are played on the field and not in the wee, empty minds of ESPN folks and voters. When we take care of business in 2 weeks, all will be right.

… but if another ACC and SEC are vying for the last spot in the playoffs, and both teams are 9-3 and have the same number of wins against their top 5 conference teams, this arbitrary bias to rank SEC teams higher will result in the SEC team getting the nod because of wins against “higher ranked” teams. 😕

ESPN has been on one power move for the last decade. They have put all their money in the SEC, so they are all in. That is one of the reasons they have consistently under-evaluated Clemson. Their stock goes through the roof if the SEC and B1G are the only two conferences. If they can control the narrative, they can control the voting for the CFP. They do not care about ruining rivalry games or the traditions of college football. It is all money, and they hate the ACC. They want us to go away.

We need to prove ourselves on the field. Dabo showed them back in 2015/2016 that they can’t leave us out if we beat everyone. It’s up to us.
