to develop anybody. We’ve had two NBA draft picks in the last ten years and none since 2017.

The truth is painfully obvious for those who want to see.

That Clemson basketball overall, has been mediocre and disappointing under Brownell is inarguable. Whether that is all Brownell's fault or has there just been an insufficient commitment from the university may be worthy of debate, but rightly or wrongly, at this point Brownell is inextricably linked to the disappointment that has dogged his tenure.

Go watch Brad's last few videos on Clemson MBB on twitter. He is just riding this out as long as he can. Comfortable and knows he can enjoy retiring soon, or get one last gig as Mid Major Coach.

If DJ is firing off his backfoot over and over again causing inaccuracy in situations where he isn't rushed, and then doesn't get subbed out in a timely manner for the greater good of the team, I'd be fine with Streeter leaving town and reserving the passenger seat for Brad on the way out.

If that happened, before I ran off Streeter, I'd want to know how much of the problem was Streeter's coaching and how much was DJ's unwillingness to implement what he had been taught.
Some people are just thick-headed and revert to natural tendencies and instincts when under pressuree. It may be that DJ is one of those who freezes under pressure and reverts to bad habits - not what he was taught.

I'd expect Street to sub him out if that were the case. My comment was if he doesn't sub him out when obvious he needs to be.

I think an argument could be made that Brownell provided all the necessary training, game theory, support, techniques, and motivation, but the kids just don't LISTEN!!!!
It's an argument I won't make, but I could see it being made.

Every year at the start of basketball season but definitely not at the start of Football season. We are a FOOTBALL school so we shouldn’t even be thinking about or discussing Basketball now, right? Unless of course someone around here is trying to get the Judge started and I am certainly not that “someone”.

Another genius who thinks CBB wrecked our Ferrari of a hoops program. The football is the Ferrari. Hoops is a Kia or Hundai at best. And should not be parked in your garage due to fire danger

Give him some time for that to ripple through the recruiting ranks. Gotta be patient for those accomplishments to deliver the proper dividends.

that years ago, although it's more of a Clemson issue vs a Brownell issue...It's not like OP/Shyatt/Barnes accounted for more...I can think of Buckner, Solomon, and Booker...Who else? Cliff Ellis recruited Elden/Dale/Whitney/Sharone, that's one less than the next 4 coaches combined

It is ironic because in the old days of cutigers.com, I was a Brownell defender. He had some pretty bad breaks, although KJ leaving early was the back breaker, IMO. We had the opportunity to be a pretty good team had KJ come back for his senior year. KJ had serious hops, but more importantly, he had the best timing I’ve ever seen on a 6’6” shot blocker. If making the NCAA tourney is not an important contract goal, we should just give up basketball. It’s nonsense. Sorry. I will not speak of hoops again for several years.

Yeah, I remember CUTigers.com having a major basketball board. Really was big on the teams, recruiting and college basketball in general. After about the third season of the Brad Brownell era everyone left it saying this program is over with. Funny, fans are still saying that 9 years later...

It was five years ago for me, but that was two extensions ago. Maybe one day we will have someone who can do this.
He already has an excuse this year. My best guy is injured.

That would never happen. Per Judge, any issues with the program is not Brownell's fault, only systemic. Kinda sounds like a serious fanboy, eh?
