If Dabo is committed to returning to the playoffs

He will pick up a few star players out the transfer portal in the next few weeks. If he decides to replace the departures with walk-ons and 2 star high school players like years past we will be relegated back to winning the ACC as the ceiling of the program.

Why are they in the portal? Are they good players...some are...just in the wrong scheme for their skill set. Caleb Williams was an outlier...as was Evers.
If I were running a program, the portal focus would be on those that had been recruited and lost out on late in the process. Those would be the targets, as much would be known of them. If leaving their current program isn't the result of illegalities, then considering them isn't any worse than recruits who haven't committed to the offer they've received. The window closes.

The portal for high end players is essentially an auction payable through the NIL. I dont believe we have the funds or willingness to participate in this manner. Anyone thinking we can simply reach out to an elite player in the portal and get their attention with nothing but a scholarship to offer will be disappointed.

never got a Clemson offer. Will likely have to outbid Tenn/Uga....He is already looking at Colorado

i think the deals have already been made once they announce

But keep Portal Whining, AT this point, we have 12 Seniors we know can leave(Putnam's staying) and 4 open slots before early draftees leave and transfers. That's 16 available spots with Recruiting Class at 23 going to 26.

If Dabo is committed to returning to the playoff's he will rehire Jeff Scott, and go recruit the best talent out there. Most of those players in the portal probably are no better than some of the ones that exit through the portal.
