About .500 and Maybe NIT bid.

You'd be crazy to expect anything more than that. He's proven a .500 coach in this league.

NIT at best. Losing our 2 best scorers, rebounders

and defenders and best 3 point shooter will leave a mark. JB and Djitte are averaging over 13 rebounds per game. Who potentially makes that up?
Where will the rebounding and defense come from?

Expectations relative to what? His current performance or where a coach should be in year 8?

Cant be a defensive coach and sell-out for a bunch of shooters
Feb 22, 2017, 3:21 PM

We have an MCaA tournament caliber roster now, and next year too. The right coach could really turn heads with this year's and next year's roster.
Brownell has always been a good defensive coach, but complaints about our lack of offense led him to recruit a bunch of shoot-first players. Brownell doesn't know how to utilize them.
If Brownell is still here next year, we'll win 14-16 games. Maybe. But with the right coach, like Will Wade from VCU, expect 18-20 wins.

basketball. The football aura has certainly taken some of the sting out of this season's utter disappointment. If the admin can afford to not care by keeping Brownell past this season, then I think it's only fair for fans not to have to care as much either.

Trick question, because he won't be back next season.

If he is, then we as fans have not properly expresssed to DRad our strong disapproval for the current state of affairs with our basketball program.
If he returns next year, then that likely means DRad doesn't think Clemson cares about basketball. And that means we are in even deeper doo doo than I thought.
