Saw this cat sunning on one of the banks at Fants Grove WMA in Lake Hartwell.
It was bigger than an average bobcat closer in size to a small cougar. White fur. Tried to get closer but it got up and walked off like it wasn't afraid at all.

My guess would be an unusually large feral cat but hard to tell.

Ehh...feral cat? I don't think so...maybe, I know the picture isn't the best. I tried to idle up to it closer. But size wise it was about the size of a large dog, like say a full grown Labrador or Rottweiler. My thought was large albino bobcat. It's face had the signature bobcat hair tufts all over it.

Wife and I had 2 25 lb cats in the 70s. Well fed does not equal feral. But one was a great mouser and lived an idealistic life as a barn cat.

I apologize again for the picture quality but this could not have been a regular old cat. It was a large animal. Way way too big to be a domestic or feral cat.

Odd that it is not spooked by you.
Tail is too long for a bobcat. Although I can’t explain the odd color (unless it’s albino), it looks like a cougar.

Huh? The tree closest to the animal with the double trunk is, I believe, a giant sweetgum. The animal as you can see laid out is longer than the double trunk is wide.
