LOL. I was was just thinking the same thing. We have grounded into dp's four out of five innings now. It's tough to follow as we have once again had plenty of opportunities to score. We're still in the game at 4-1 though. Hopefully we can pull our late game routine again. Louisville has obviously got a helluva team.

Of course I agree that when the DP is botched, it doesn't "officially count" in the stats, but we hit into a DP in that instance none-the-less. It was a tailor-made DP ball. Duke just failed to turn it.

I don't see the college baseball stat on that, but the record for MLB is 7 by SF against HOU in 1969. We were on pace to beat that after 5 innings. Ughhh

Just found it. In college baseball, most turned in one game is 7 by multiple teams. It lists double play stats as "turned" and not "hit into". Most turned in a season was 111 by UCLA.
