What is the chances that Beamer is the new Dabo?

I thought he was a really bad hire with no head coaching experience. Definitely a cheerleader and a rah rah guy. He’s very emotional too. All of the things they used to say about Dabo. However, he’s got them believing and it’s hard to argue that they are not on an upward trajectory. A ton of their own fan base didn’t like him until the last two weeks. I guess we’ll see how it plays out but I sincerely hope Dabo makes some significant changes on staff this offseason.

The good thing about it is if he has success there, a real school will hire him. It’s not a destination spot. That would happen long before he had anything approaching what we got to experience.

Why do y’all think he wouldn’t stay there? He will be a god if they continue getting better. He will be paid big time, if they continue to improve.

I disagree. I think that he will develop this team into what their fan base wants and he will stay with them . A head coaching job in the SEC is a big time opportunity and he will be compensated for his efforts. Clemson is no longer the king of football in this area. This may be a good thing for our team. I certainly don’t see Dabo allowing this to happen without a fight. Football just got to be more fun. Let’s see how we respond to this change. Portal? NIL? Enhanced recruiting? Staff changes? Stay tuned!

I think he will. He’s listed as a junior.

I can argue that. His main claim to fame is the Oklahoma players he brought with him.

Rattler was certainly a good move. Hasn’t been good all year but great recently.

He was a Heisman candidate earlier in his career (as was DJ) so perhaps he has been developed into a big time winner. He certainly impressed me yesterday. I think that a lot of you will be surprised when the pre season polls come out next year. Football in the state has gone up a few notches.

In today's college football world, having a coach that can attract players, teach them and bring out the best in them is nothing new. The fact that Beamer beat back to back Top 10 teams does not earn him Coach of the Year but anything that brings energy and positive publicity is a good thing. Think back to when we beat LSU on the pass to Nuke and you will see what they are seeing in Columbia. They are seeing the future. The difference is we did not have to play Georgia, Florida, Tennessee every year so South Carolina is just not there yet.

But he does seem to be following the Dabo blueprint almost better than Dabo, with the advantage of fully embracing the portal

Zero. While the win yesterday was a lot of fun and ended the streak. It's going to end up setting us back a decade. I fully expect the collapse to occur next season when we lose most of our entire starting roster.
But by then we'll have given him such a big extension we can't afford to fire him.

I definitely agree with that statement but the start to his career there is eerily similar to Dabo’s. He’s got a harder road in the Sec but I’m hoping them having some success will light a new fire here.

Beamer was a good hire and he’s doing things right down there. Apart from the logo on his hat, he’s hard to dislike and he’s making good moves.
