Our system is broken when out of 300M+ people Trump and Biden are our best options for president. It's a sad day in our country which makes me doubt our future unless something changes.

When you go to the boards and click the button for a new post, it does not give the option of the politics board. You have to go to the politics board first (I later learned) then click new post.
I would also note since this is not taking a political position, it can go on the Amphitheatre board.

Whats so sad is that the only way the dems can win is if Trump is the repub nominee...any other repub nominee wins in a landslide
The only way the repubs can win if trump is fhe nominee is if the dems nominate biden...any other moderate dem nominee kills trump
Yet both parties will nominate their worst possible candidate and their only chance to lose!!!

Look at the results from last night. Trump got no moderate or independent vote. Without those the result will be the same as last time. About the only votes Haley got last night was from the moderates and independents (43%). Trump got the die hard republicans, but there are not enough of them to get him elected over any democrat.

With a normal ego would want that job? The system has failed. A country with so many super intelligent people would allow guys like Biden and Trump to control our lives is beyond belief. It’s time this country woke up. The two party system has FAILED! I really fear the next four years.

You hit the nail on the head. Nobody with any sense or morals wants the job because of all the corruption and distractions around it.
I enjoy reading books written by Carl Hiassen. He was a columnist for the Miami Herald and has written about 15 books. They are fiction, but pretty closely resemble the craziness that goes on in Florida, especially south Florida. He has a recurring character in some of his books who is a former governor of Florida who was driven so crazy by the corruption and lobbyists that he disappeared and now lives off the grid in the Everglades. He is a hysterically funny character but also a statement on politics in America. I highly recommend these books for entertaining reading.

I live in N.C. My Son was a 3 time SC House Majority Leader and was Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee when he retired. Back in '22 when talk was getting strong for Nikki, I asked him (expecting a quick yes) if he was going to back her and floored me with his answer, a quick & loud hill no. He served 30years, so he knew her well. Something is wrong if she can't get support from her own state!!

The bad thing about Trump is he can't get the moderate and independent voters... therefore he will lose again to a a man with the obvious early onset of dementia. For that matter Trump is probably not far behind Biden on the effects of old age.
Oh well... we asked for it. It's nobodies fault but our own. The liberals are screaming, "Go Trump!!!"

Our system is corrupt. Career politicians should not be millionaires.
The 2 sides are now polar opposites and very little to no common ground anymore.
Like him or hate him makes no difference but I’m a hell of lot worse off than I was 4 years ago. I’m more afraid of going to the grocery store right now with current inflation than I am of a Trump presidency.

minds would never entertain the idea of doing the job. Its career suicide b/c of the weaponized polarization. You either have to be a DC pre-programmed robot or an unapologetic egomaniac to apply for that nonsense. Our entertainment industry, media and the DC swamp has created that. Not the people...who just want someone who is genuinely trying to do a good job. Trump is crazy enough to try to prove his adversaries wrong but I don't see that being the case probably ever again. It will be back to the pre-programmed rats after this. The establishment cronies are making an example out of Trump to scare anyone else off from ever trying again.

Regardless of anyone's political opinions God always puts leaders into power for his purpose and reason. It's up to people to figure out what is being done morally wrong and then how to become right in God's eyes and not man's eyes. Agree or Disagree we are still free to choose beliefs but then accept the outcome.
