What I would like to see Saturday...

I don't know how to say this without sounding downtrodden, but the Tigers face a significant uphill battle in Saturdays game at Heinz Field. With the loss of Ngata, Frank Ladson (Groin, not likely to play), and EJ Williams (Knee, not likely to play), the offense is going to be relying on some lesser known names. After studying Pitts Defense (they run an aggressive cover 4), the best solution I can come up with to a path to victory for the tiger is to air it out. There is a good chance we lose this game regardless, so TE might as well bring out all the stops and allow DJ to use his arm (whether he is accurate or not will remain to be seen) and take advantage of the weaknesses of such Big-10 style cover 4 (1-1 matchups with WR's downfield). I'm looking at you Ajou Ajou (athletically superior reciever). We likely won't have much success running the football straight out (they often sell out to stop the run), but a nice mix of RPO worked significantly well for Western Michigan as well. If TE decides to have a change of heart and ditch the conservative play calling, then Clemson might have a chance to keep this one close/win outright.

RPO is a good call, IF DJ will run the ball every now & then

If history dictates anything though, he will miss the read, hand the ball off to Pace/Mafah, and spring around the corner whilst watching them get crushed in the wash of the trenches. *Sigh*

I have an ill advised itch to see Will Swinney in the slot position for some unhinged reason. I think we could potentially do some damage on the short routes, if we are able to open up the field. Then again, if our offense sputters and smokes like it has through the first half of the season, it is all moot regardless.

I keep hearing how great we are in practice so I guess what I want to see is simple; play as you practice!

How about max-protect and send 2 WR's deep

Take advantage of DJ's arm and our tall WR's. If you hit on one it can change the game.

Is for us to go up tempo the whole game and throw Pitt defense out of sorts - If we do and put Ross back outside where he belongs we will win bigger than people think - Up tempo is Clemson offensive football!!!!
