Our offensive guards....especially on the left side

really need to play better. Often times, the LG can't move his feel fast enough and the QB gets sacked at the absolute worst times.
Also, ETN needs to run around the OL because oftentimes this LG can't hold a block.
This LG isn't very good at all and surprised that he gets so much playing time. Does being a redshirt senior give us enough film to know he is not good?
Not calling out anyone by name, but wow, would have been great having a good LG this year. =)

Let me put it to you in a simpler way. Rules on TNET should be applied equally across all players regardless of sport.

Oh, you misunderstood. I understood what you said, I said there was no logic in it.
There is no T-net rule regarding how grown men should respect the fact that we are discussing kids. That’s implied.
South of that is, well...

I believe our backup center played left guard for most of the notre Dame Game, otherwise Bockhorst is in there, albeit talented, a work in progress.

Cade Stewart is 62, he replaced Bockhorst. Then he went out and we ended up playing a true freshman for a while. This has definitely been a rebuilding year for the Oline, But I am confident they will be playing much better after a couple weeks in the film room and some time to heal. We seem to go through this every year, but yeah, our interior has been a major weakness in the run game.

Still don't understand why they would move an incapable center to LG and not give Tchio a chance. He certainly couldn't have been worse.

It's hard to second-guess one of the best coaching staffs in the country and I love my Tigers.
But do I have a right to say player A isn't playing well without it being deleted? Well, they can decide.

I dont disagree with you, but I also think we dont have Muscoot as a coach, so what we see out there likey IS the best combination of line. I just think that frankly none of them are much more than above average, and that is mostly because Carman has a lot of upside, just seems SLOW. Speed guys kill him, at least this year. Maybe he's been hurt, who knows? The rest? Being blunt, previous seasons anytime I saw Stewart in there, or Morris I knew a penalty or bad play was coming. This year Stewart has played better (sorta) but the rest of the line isnt strong enought to cover for him. Coaches have what they have, and for all of the Caldwell love from recruits, I just dont see big nasties out there year in and year out. Just my armchair take on it.

I really feel like we are turning the corner here because the guys we have on scholarship for the most part were national recruits. But it is disappointing to see our Juniors under performing, and it taking until late November every year to get the ground game going against a solid Dline. In their defense, they have no functional depth to work with this year. We have freshman backing up our starters at almost every position. We needed a couple more scholarship linemen on this roster and had the room to do it.

Yeah, similar opinion on JC; believe it was the BC game, he was (from the snap) straight bull rushed 5 yds behind the line of scrimmage & into DJ for a sack(BC end was giving up 50lbs easy)-it was quick, leaving no time to advance the pocket + it was DJ's blindside

On this play, the guard pulled to lead the running back and totally wiffed his block. The TE didn't do any better at blocking. The play went for naught. Pulling our guards was futile. Many times the center got pushed back into the backfield making the guard have to run around him. When they did get to their block they were highly ineffective whether they were blocking a lineman, a linebacker, or a DB. They usually just blocked the path of the running back.

And you were basing this off of watching one game.

I get the sarcasm and in general, never post about the negative play of any player.
We have the best coaching staff in the country, in my opinion, and would not trade them for any in the country.
That being said if player A is not playing well then what is wrong with saying so?

A good thought but a 5th year SR at this point in the season has likely reached peak collegiate potential/maxed out. No fault of his own, He's overachieved considerably as his Clemson career winds down. Still the harsh reality is at best his ceiling ideally should have been as a dependable reserve/ rotational w/ minimal snaps. Instead he's a day 1 starter & on the field for 60-75 snaps & physical limitations will show-

PBT , people have no problem with saying a player isn’t playing well. The problem was your original comment that the kid should never be in a Clemson uniform. You mentioned the coaching staff so try this logic. Would a coach tell a player he needs to play better? Of course. They would then explain where and how he needs to improve. Would a coach tell a player he should never be in a Clemson uniform?? I think you know the answer.

I would agree that the OL has not been as strong as hoped for. However, what's your solution Pacific? I think you would probably agree that Coach Caldwell and Coach Swinney are putting out the best of what they have and are coaching them hard. If there was a player performing better in practice, he would be on the field. Despite the OL, we still put up 40 points against ND. That should have been enough. I guess next you'll be on ETN's case over fumbles. I get your point, but would venture to say that even if you personally had lunch everyday with Dabo and Caldwell that your view would not help to "advance the ball." The results at this point may not be what we want as fans, but the effort is there. If that were not the case, other players would be on the field.
