Quick question for Brownell fans

Am excited we are playing well this year. That is all I have hoped for the last 40 plus years as a basketball fan. Do you think if we finally win and make an actual run in the NCAA tournament, will Brownell leave if offered a better job with a fanbase who is more of a baskeball based program? This could be a magical season for everyone and if so will some of you, who have supported Brownell, also follow him to cheer for his new team? This COULD be the year that ALLLLL Clemson fans have waited for. Finally a great season and Brownell leaving???

Unfortunately, within the industry, Donlon is far more likely to get the credit and be the acquisition target.

Guess you have nothing to add in terms of the thread topic (as usual)?
BTW what is an actual vs. a simulated run in the tournament?

I mean if we win the ACC, and hope we do, then we should advance to at least the elite 8. Since as some claim, the ACC is not having one of its worst years, then we should make a deep run if we win the ACC.

Winning the 5th or 6th best conference in the country is no certainty for a run to the Elite 8. A lot of that will depend on our seeding and our region.

Wondering if you ever comment on the actual topic or do you just try to bully other posters?

Is “bully” the Brownell Bros word of the day? You’re quite an alliterative bunch. Simply referencing other posters doesn’t really strike me as bullying. Is acknowledging that you defend Brownell somehow insulting or intimidating? It seems to just be a fact and one that you’re quite comfortable with.

We're going to make a good run. Brad's not going anywhere. He's got a gold mine here. Not many schools would pay him as much as we do... I don't think any would.
On a side note. Bama is close to us in bball. Their history is comparable to ours. Spend way less on resources than us. They finally found them a coach after going through 3 in the last 12 yrs. point being, #2 in the country, good chance to move to 1st last night. Undefeated in sec play. Played at home last night at 9pm and drew 80%... ticket sales. Probably more like 60% actual seats filled.

A) I don’t think you know how to read the tables on the link you provided. None of the numbers I’m looking at match with yours. Maybe they’ve been updated since you posted these.
B) adjusted for severances Alabama spends almost the same amount on their basketball program. That probably doesn’t help your arguments.

If Brownell was as good of a coach as the JK cultists says he is, he would've already been gone to a "basketball" school. Those in the JK cult always claim true basketball people around the country knows that he's a good coach that doesn't get the proper support.
In every sport both players and coaches get poached all the time if it's perceived they're doing more with less. If real basketball people think we don't support him, then why hasn't he had a single job offer in 12 years from either a basketball school or a school willing to invest in basketball?

Correct, they would have been picking it for many other jobs. My guess is, Brad is thought of well in the BB world. But not seen as a fixer.

Brownell is not going anywhere. No other university wants him. While I am greatly enjoying this season, it is a fluke just like 2016-17. Other schools' ADs get this. Hunter Tyson = Gabe Devoe. Unfortunately, Brownell will get a nice raise and contract extension after winning ACC coach of the year. And in 2023-24, Clemson will be right back in the bottom half of the ACC.

What do you mean, right back in the bottom half of the ACC?

We have the fifth most ACC wins since 2017.
That’s top third, not bottom half.
Try again.

It’s an interesting spin on his comment because we may have the 5th most wins (I have no idea if this is true) but for the last six completed seasons (2017 -2022) we finished in the bottom half of the conference 4 times (67%).

If Brownell leaves you will get another midmajor Coach. No head coach from a power 5 is coming. Brad has been advised to leave by coaches some of which you know well. The belief that Clemson will be better off with another coach is fantasy. Keep hoping that the team crashes so you can run him off. Show up at a game and cheer against him and the guys. That is the only way you will find happiness.

What vitriol. What spite. What hubris.
You would have to be a fool not to acknowledge some fine coaching this year.
You’d also have to acknowledge that all the freshmen are wonderfully athletic and gifted additions. Who recruited them? If BB goes do they go?
Would that set the program back another 5 to 10 years.
Get real
And if you can be one of the 66 teams in the tourney out of 350+ total, isn’t being 1 of 32 or 1 of 16 in itself success?
Have you ever even watched basketball?

We made a run five years ago under Brownell.

That Sweet 16 run was one of the best seasons we’ve ever had at Clemson. As I’m sure you know, we have no national championships and no Final Four appearances. We have one Elite Eight, over 40 years ago. Brad’s Sweet 16 appearance is just one of three in our entire history.
I believe this year’s team is capable of a run like that, but we need to stay healthy and we need to have the ball bounce our way some.
Brad has no desire to leave. He could’ve left in the past but didn’t. He loves Clemson. That’s something to be applauded, especially in a sport that has seen plenty of our coaches want to be somewhere else. I wish some of you would appreciate him more.

If you cared at all what people thought about Brownell you wouldn’t behave the way you do on this board. Your work as spokesperson is completely counterproductive and is the surest tell of your real intent.
