No problem with not starting Knaak, but our relief was the issue.

We have better pitching overall. You take Tristan out one batter earlier it's a different game. We can on bullpen deep this series. Keep the faith.

Very dumb. Probably cost us the offseason. Knaak should start Sat. Rest Sun. Then Start Mon if needed. Instead it’s a likely 0-2 super.
That being said. #### of a season and bakich deserves a raise for getting these boys this far.

You are a DA... let the mods explain that to ya! Right call to start Smith. We left how many runners in scoring position through the first 5 innings? While you remove your shoes to count we will wait.

Have you ever played baseball? He’s going to pitch on one day’s rest? That would be criminal.
Now he has a chance to get us to game 3. I’m glad we have him on the mound tomorrow.

There’s a 78% chance we don’t advance. Bot using him in game 1 is suicidal. Statistics are law in baseball.

If you start Knaak and lose, then what? If you pitch him in game 2, he has a chance to win the regional or get you to game 3.
Plus, he normally pitches on Sunday. Coaches like to keep the routine intact when possible.

Only 22% of game 1 losers advance. You throw everything at game 1.

Often in super regionals the home team is significantly better than the visitor and sweeps them. So sure they won the first game and the series; it wasn't because game 1 was magical it's because they were better. How many of those 22% got swept or did the TV announcers not tell you that?

Knaak throws tomorrow you have to win two so it really doesn’t matter which he throws.. he threw game two last week so an extra day rest makes since. Also Florida throws their ace tomorrow

If it had worked out today, with a win you might have had an argument to start Darden or Barlow tomorrow with either on a short leash for Knaak out of the pen. The opportunity to have Knaak available for Monday would have been interesting. However, it didn’t work so now it’s Knaak for hopefully 6 or 7 innings and a sizable lead to get to Monday.

Exactly. To win the super, you must win a game with a pitcher not named Knaak. It doesn’t matter if that occurs in game 1 or game 3.
